My friend and I had a good day's chazzing yesterday. We selected Wellington and Shrewsbury in Shropshire as our hunting ground.
I picked up:
Vintage worsted wool kick pleat skirt with a lime green trim (£2.50 Relate)
Original 1980's bodysuit with the tags still attached (99p Relate)
Long skinny silk scarf with paisley print in lime and turquoise (49p Salvation Army)
1960's "Sammy" Paisley scarf with wool lining (£1.50 Sue Ryder)
Silver ethnic earrings with coin droppers (99p Severn Hospice shop)
Beautiful purple Welsh Tweed cape (£10 Age Concern)
Roland Cartier riding boots (£3.99 YMCA)
Vintage brown suede waistcoat (£3.49 Salvation Army)
I'll pop them on the blog over the next couple of days.0 -
My first post on this thread... love reading all the fabulous finds you can still get. I love the vintage look myself so buying second hand works for me. Went to a car boot in Edinburgh on sunday and managed to get :
a 60's style Laura for Topshop dress, a 50's style Laura for Topshop sundress and a River island teadress all for £8.00. A pair of victorian style boots for £2.00 and a Karen Millen plum fringed mini for £1.00 for my daughter. Also several Accessorize charm bracelets and a chunky necklace all for 50p each. I almost was tempted by a fabulous Whistles teadress but she wouldn't accept anything less than £10 so I resisted :-). last week I got a brand new pair of yellow Topshop wedge sandals for £3.00 ready for summer- massively on trend just like ones in a spread in this months Elle magazine- my daughter wants them, maybe we'll share!!Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD0 -
I was chazzing in Shrewsbury the other week Goan, pretty good but I didn't come away with anything other than a couple of books. Will definitely go again though. Prestatyn and West Kirby have been my favourite places so far.
WE have a charity shop in town where they do regular £1 sales at least once a week but they've apparently been told they can't do it any more. It's such a shame as it means they'll sell less and since they have no storage space it just means loads more stuff will get ragged.
Everyone seems to have had some brilliant finds lately!0 -
oh, what carboot in edinburgh was it medsdemon?0

A couple of my local charity shops used to have a pound rail but they all seem to have stopped this. Is there a reason why - as mentioned above it seems silly and a bit of a waste.0 -

The one in the Greenside Carpark, next to the Omni.. I've only been twice and found there seems to be a good selection of clothing, nice brands but not cheap. Saw Paul Smith, Abercrombie and Fitch, Monsoon, LK Bennett etc. i'm going to try the bootsale in the park and ride in inverkeithing next weekend as well after we've finished in Edinburgh.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Hi everyone this is my very first post as i am into car booting/ebaying big time.
Just reading through this thread and was wondering if the car boot sale at Inverkeithing is on every week? Thanks
I am also watching the car boot sale advice thread as i am interested in local boot sales where the money goes to schools, charity etc.
Will keep an eye on these.0 -
Hi all
Took a day off work today to go shopping, picked up some bargains, a lovely fringe River Island suade waistcoat (£12 - bit pricey for a CS but it was £75 new so I coughed up)... will be perfect for festival season which is looming!
I also got a dressing table stool for £6 - a bit tatty but i'll give it a revamp.
I also got a BNWT Mama's and Papa's cot bumper - blokes sisters expecting so I picked it up for her. I never know how people will feel if I see things I think they will like/or will be handy to them if they dont usually shop in CS's!
Anyway, finished my chair I mentioned from my previous posts...
Here's some pics!0 -
