PinkTiger, of course they're great finds, the fur coat sounds lovely
I'm heading off to the Redcar Racecourse carboot tomorrow, anyone know what it's like on a Saturday? It's my first one in absolutely ages, so hope I can find some decent stuff! Afterwards I'm going to have a good old trail through their charity shopsWill report back if I get anything nice!

at last i can post my own finds, i keep getting envious reading about everyone elses, its rare to find a bargain in one of the 5 charity shops near me but today i went to a different area & as i was passing the pdsa shop at 11.45 i spotted a sign in the window saying 'happy hour 12-1pm, all ladies clothing £1'! it would have been rude not to take a look, i ended up with a longline plummy coloured top from new look, a grey cardie from m&s & best of all a cream fake fur coat from debenhams, all for £3. i know its not as good as some of your finds but it made me happy & its for an animal charity so even better:j
Sound like fab finds to me! At £1 you can wear them and feel great for helping a worthwhile cause.0 -
i got a free ELC fire station, police station and hospital pop up tent via gumtree today. Am so pleased with my find as i usually email and they are gone already!
also got Crocodile dentist game from the local charity shop yesterday for £1 and the boys love it!0 -
Back from Redcar, wasn't the best day to be honest
I rang up the boot sale this morning to check that it was still on, got through to a prerecorded message saying what time sellers should arrive but thought I'd risk it anyway as the website says it's on all year long. Got off the train a stop too late (thanks a bunch Google Maps!), so my 5 minute walk turned into a 35 minute walk, stopping to ask 3 different people for directions along the way. Finally got there to find that it wasn't on, and then it started peeing down with rain. At this point I was freezing cold, bloody annoyed, and ready to give up but I decided to have a wander round the chazzers anyway.
I bought a few things -
A big PVC red and black checked weekend bag for £5
4 small round glass tealight holders for 99p
A floaty Bay summery top in a green and white leafy pattern
A T-shirt with a black and pink rock motorbike design which I'd been watching on eBay a while ago and missed out on - £2D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
well, inspired by Goanmad and others, I thought I'd go to a local jumble sale. It was pants!!
Paperback books £1 each, dearer than my charity shop. Clothes were awful and barely anything there. One small girl said to her granny on leaving "we spent two minutes in there and bought nothing!". Yes, I know the feeling....
On the other hand, bought 3 shirts in the charity shop for husband. All perfect, Next and M&S (Italian made) for £3, £1 each. Looked like they'd never been wornSaving money right, left and centre0 -
I got (although not from a CS unfortunately but from a house clearance shop) a lovely tatty old dining room chair which i'm using to re-paint & upholster for a chair for my dressing table...
The cheeky !!!!!! wanted £25 for it - but after much haggling I took it home for £7.
Just finished sanding it and painting it white. I love the shabby chic look and the new chairs Ive seen and like are £150+
My first attempt at refirb furniture and if it comes out well i'll post up some pics to share.

Faux fur coats sell well on Ebay I've noticed, my daughter bought one for a couple of pounds at a boot sale for herself but it was too big, she sold it for £50 on Ebay.
Now I've got one, I bought it at a CS but I look like a big teddy bear in it:(, so have put it on Ebay too, fingers crossed it does well.0
