I start a new job on Monday after a few months of redundancy, home baking and comfort eating! Suffice to say that my work clothes are a little snug! So I criss-crossed my way up our local charity street in search of something different.
At £10.25 for the two these weren't prime bargains but they are just my colour and the sale skirt I'd given up on was twice as much.
A nice long green skirt with criss-cross sections and fashion fraying.
A pair of Next gorgeous green/cord/turquoise accent jeans - really different and with no signs of wear whatsoever. These might be smart enough for work but I shan't chance it on the first day.0 -
One of my friends had a rare thursday off work yesterday so we blitzed the local "footballer's wife" town.
As usual the charity shops were rammed with tasteless designer bling and overpriced tat but I managed to pick up an unworn Celia Birtwell blouse I'd wanted for ages (£3.95), a current TopShop deconstructed jersey dress (£1.99) and a 1930's ceramic elephant (£3.30)
Today's foray into town resulted in a vintage suede fronted Sears cardi (£1.25) which pleased my mod-loving BF no end, an oversized pair of 1970's red sunglasses (25p) and a book of women's travel writing (20p)0 -
Was that the Au Naturale in Stockton? Was supposed to be having a housework day tomorrow after my CS trawl today but might have to go out now - what a shame!!!!
Todays bargains:
Topshop denim skirt £1
Wallis top BNWT £1
Jeans £1
Vintage heavy silk top covered in sequins with massive butterfly motif, teadress and topshop skirt £5 for the 3
Snakeskin print leggings £2
BNIP Topshop orange tighs £1
Yeah, there's only a few shelves of stuff left now, and one side is all still full priced. Went in a little while ago and there was tons of stuff left that had hardly been reduced, then yesterday it was all mega cheap but mostly goneHope you managed to get there today and find some bargains amongst the tat. They've just recently opened that massive shop in Middlesbrough though so at least we won't have to go completely without!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
Today I got a pair of New Look jeans that should fit my daughter perfectly, a purple jersey camisole with crochet inserts NWT and a beautiful black sateen mac for a total of £6. The mac apparently makes me look 'skinny' which I'm definitely not so I'm very happy with that! It needs some new buttons and I'm thinking of changing the plain fabric covered ones for sparkly purple ones, not sure though, there's a lot of buttons on it.0

Had a good day here and lots of bargains along the way ! :j
First port of call was the regular Saturday car boot (mostly dealers but a few proper car booters too) and despite the weather being a bit drizzly, it was quite busy and lots of stalls. No clothing bargains but I did pick up 4 brand new wall lights (ready for when we decorate) - original price on box was £15 each and I got all 4 for £5 :money:. Stopped at a church hall (indoor boot sale) on the way home and picked up some lovely retro bracelets (pics will be on blog later) for £1 each. Nothing that special about them but I liked them.
Popped home for lunch and then off to a jumble sale at a church hall at 2pm. I'd forgotten how much fun they can be :rotfl:. Extremely busy but it's not a jumble sale without a bit of pushing and shoving. You definitely needed pointy elbows at this one .
Bought a bin bag full of clothing but unfortunately some of it doesn't fit so I'll have to Ebay it, some games for the kids including some vintage fuzzy felt and rubics cube and a bag full of books. Total spend was £6.
There's an antiques fayre on down the road tomorrow so I might pop along there but realistic in that I know their prices will be 'apt'.
Hope everyone else has managed to get some bargains today ! xx:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Wow Nyc some good buys there, this morning I got
Topshop longer line tshirt with pockets in teal £1

Topshop punkyfish jumper £1
Did also get a skirt in Topshop which was only £3.00 when I got to the till, thought this is cheaper than some of the CS would charge- its a bid mad!!!!!!0 -
No jumbles, nothing good in the charity shops but I did buy myself a gorgeous orange jumpsuit in River Island (naughty:D)
There is a boot sale on tomorrow though so I am going to give that a try. I don't usually go to this one as there are a lot of traders and people selling dodgy gear - its always getting raided by the police. But its worth a tryNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
I really adore reading this thread but I get really jealous...
For example today I went into 5 different charity shops.... the cheapest clothes I could find were £3 for not very good condition stuff such as george and atmosphere... if you want new look it's aroun £4... river island £5 .. jigsaw is about £6 etc etc
So yeh.. I always read this... get really excited... go out... and not be able to get anything... Today I spent £14 on 3 tops - Not a bargain!!! but I just loved them
How does everyone on here find cheap stuff?
Jeans were around £10 and even paperback books were a couple of quid each!!!!Misc debts - £5,000 | Student loan - £9,000 | Mortgage - £180,000
Goals for 2015: Sell house & downsize + Increase income + Get debt Free :shocked: {Diary}

Got an orange topshop cardi with multicoloured heart buttons £2.50
Evans top BNWT for £3 labelled RRP £32.99 - big for me so off on eBay!
A lovely 80's style top with diamontes, embellishments & sheer sleeves - quite hard to discribe but very trendy style atm, and am pleased knowing no body else will be in the same thing! £2.50
A lovely mens denim Levis shirt which i'll wear oversized myself £3.50
Tanned bag (not sure if its leather, but it's lovely and soft all the same) £4.00
An old shabby chic tatty old chair which was fun to drag home on the bus!! £5.00 - Plan to reupholster and repaint for my dressing table in my bedroom!
...& a cute little beany hedgehog toy for my desk at work - 50p
Contemplating the Car Boot tomorrow if I can drag myself out of bed. I did plan to spend the day spring-cleaning my flat, but the car boot at 9am sounds a lot more fun!0
