Pleased with my little haul today: :D

    Car Boot

    5 baskets (in prep for xmas/birthday presents) - £3, they wanted £4 but I haggled, of course ! ;)

Ravel handbag - £3 (didn't haggle on this as she'd already knocked it down from £8)

Thunderbirds games/puzzles x 12 - £10 (will be going on Ebay eventually, not selling for much at the moment so might pop them in the loft and forget about them for a while)

    Charity Shop

Warehouse leather skirt - £6.99 (love this !)
    Next stripey jumper - £3.49
Next plain cream cardigan - £3.49

I'll take some pics in a bit after I've had something to eat - I'm starving after all that shopping :p

Thanks for the links to the other blogs Goanmad, now I've got even more excuses not to do anything :rotfl:. I'm going to enjoy reading them tonight over a nice glass of wine :D.

Pics now on my blog :D

Well no jumble sales for me today so BF and I got up early and drove to a nearby town with a plethora of charity shops. It's not the poshest town or particularly trendy but we always do surprisingly well.

I bought an amazing 1950's wool skirt suit for £4 which I've just popped on my blog and I also got:

Currrent Miss Selfridge grey jumpsuit £4.99
    Topshop mustard T-Bar shoes £2.99
Edwardian style knee-high lace up brown leather boots £5.00
    Furla leather satchel bag £1
    1960's silk scarf 25p
    1960's tooled leather handbag 75p
    Purple cocktail ring
Tachen coffee table book on 1970's movies 50p
Vintage black velvet mini dress with beaded collar £1

    For BF:
    Hackett floral shirt £1.99
    Raf Simons Tee Shirt £1.49
    Replay Tee Shirt 99p
    Levi's Sherpa jacket £4.50
D&G "Magic" low rise grey jeans £2.50
Black leather lap top bag £1.95
Current Topman long sleeved tee £1.99

Must have a clearout tomorrow, I've no room left in the wardrobe!

This happens with the local schools doing car boots in the summer. About 4 on the same day so 2 end up cancelling. You'd think they could co-ordinate between themselves.

They would have more customers, it completely makes sense but they never do. Daft

I did got out last night, had quite a lot to drink and woke up tired but no hungover so we did 3 jumbles. The first 10am I got a few books including the new Dan Brown Lost Symbol for 50p. I got this for christmas so am going to send my copy from Amazon back:D

Second and third were utter rubbish, I did not buy one single thing. I should have stayed in bed

I LOVE your purple cape Goanmad
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

It shut last week, they are apparantly moving to another shop but haven't found one yet, let me know if you findout where / if theres a jumble sale, I keep checking the gazette on line but no luck, I have seen adverts for past ones in a church in mbro where you paid £1 to get in and could get as much stuff as you like- hope its one like that :rotfl:

I will :) I went past the Church again today and the sign isn't there anymore so I'm guessing the event has been and gone. Now I'm hoping it wasn't a jumble sale! I saw that 'all you can carry for £1' advertisement yesterday while I was google searching, it sounds amazing! Whereabouts do you look? I looked on the What's On section of the Gazette but it's all music/theatre type events, and the Herald and Post didn't have anything either. Is it only certain days they advertise car boots/jumble sales you reckon? I hope we find one, would be funny to be elbowing through some stuff with a fellow MSE-er :rotfl:

Yeah I check the Gazette on line but I find it a bit of a faff on, the Northern Echo has a good website but the bad news is all the jumble sales seem to be in York, will post on here if I find anything.

Hardly as exciting as the experts/enthusiasts among you but I was very pleased when I got a nice tall, cushiones ironing board with a new cover for £3 yesterday. Id expected the seller to say around £8.

I also found a pretty, sealed 4000 piece jigsaw which will keep DM busy!

Scotrae - its still a good feeling to get a bargain!!!!!!!!

I went to a town near me today 2 CS were shut and another was charging ridiculous prices £4-£5 for a 'normal' top

    Wow! You lot do brilliantly!

I am super jealous! I'm in central London and in our charity shops we're charged a fiver for a Peacocks tee thats seen better days...perhaps something to do with the uber expensive rates maybe!?

So no designer bargains here I'm afraid (unless Im just not looking in the right place!) although I did find a boxed "Dreamphone" board game in excellent condition which I used to play when I was younger for £2... me & the girls had a great night in reinacting our teens on Saturday night!

I love reading all your finds so please keep posting - my fave thread on the forum by far! :)

    Hello!

Managed to snaffle a cute brown wool 1970's style coat for a rather whopping £7.95 today. Mind you it is lovely, a great fit and much better quality than anything you'd find on the high street - and made in England, too! Pictures on my blog.

I always recommend going to a less "posh" area for chazzing. The assistants tend to know their labels in the posher places where your down-at-heel places wouldn't know their Giorgio Armani from their George at Asda.

This websites great for planning a day out:

Ventured into my local charity sale for the scouts, managed to get a lovely wool skirt by Monsoon £1, Coast black see through cardigan (as new - sadly a little tight) £1, and a primark lambswool tank top (i wanted this earlier in the season but they never had my size) £1, then ended up spending a further £2.50 on toys to keep DS quiet!! :)
    August: £149/£150

    Sept: £200
