Went into a couple over the past few days CS and got:

    Glass flower plate 49p
Book - Autobiography of a one year old £1.80 bit more than I'd usually pay but I've been after it for ages and when I got it home it was a signed copy - bonus
2 rolls of Toy Story border 50p
    Limited collection bag BNWT £3.50
M&S Chintzy cup and saucer - new free as it was BOGOF with the bag

then found a jumble sale on my travels yipeeee!!!!!

Wallis trousers, wallis top, mens retro shirt, long sleeved top and boys jacket all for £1
Then I saw a small Meakin jug that I had seen the prvious day in the CS for £1 they wanted 5p for it, they also had 3 matching cups and 6 saucers which they said I could have it all for 30p

What a splendid job you've done on that chair, I-Owe-You!
Which festivals are you off to? I'm so looking forward to the festival season, I love it.

Lola34 - great buys and well done on the jumble sale. We've got two advertised for tomorrow, hoping the heavy snow forecast for the West Midlands holds off till evening time.

jasmineswhiskers the pound sale in the shop here was on all the clothes not just a rail! I suppose people were just going in on pound day,I have to admit I always check the sign on the door and often don't bother if the £1 sign isn't up.
  • Hi everyone this is my very first post as i am into car booting/ebaying big time.
Just reading through this thread and was wondering if the car boot sale at Inverkeithing is on every week? Thanks
I am also watching the car boot sale advice thread as i am interested in local boot sales where the money goes to schools, charity etc.
Will keep an eye on these. :)

It used to be, but haven't been for ages:o.

I love how everyone is shopping for festival clothes. If you buy from CS's and carboots you often look original and aren't wearing the same 6 primark outfits everyone else is wearing! Plus if the weathers atrocious or you end up losing yourself for a little bit and get your clothes abit trashed it doesnt matter so much:D. i'm jealous of anyone going to glastonbury this year.. i missed out on tickets:(. Have others but sad to miss this.

Am off up to the local CS's today (both independent) so hopefully will have some luck. Wish we had jumble sales up here.

Medsdemon - I've already got my Glasto clobber sorted, but I go to at least 5 festivals a year and my stuff is usually trashed after a couple of them. I hate how there's hoards of kids dressed in identical high street clothing, what ever happened to subversive culture? Wearing stuff a litle different from the norm helps you make loads of new friends, too.

Good luck with your chazza hunt, can't wait for tonight's jumble sale. Don't forget to report back with any finds.

i'm probably only doing 3 festival this year but no doubt be tempted for more..might work one of the smaller ones too ! Which are you going to this year besides Glasto?

Well not much of interest.. apparently one of the shops sells alot of their interesting stuff online... wish i lived in an area like Goanmad lives, all those amazing finds. I got a suede suit for £1- it's really soft and clean, looks unworn, probably as it seems to add pounds on when you wear it!! I'm going to make a cushion cover with the skirt and i may sell the jacket as surely someone would look good in it with jeans:D. i also picked up a Planet jacket for £3.00. lovely burnt orange colour and because of it's dated long length actually looks like a fitted spring weight coat, perfect if i add my skinny animal print belt with it.

looking forward to hear what was got at the jumble sale tonight!!

Just got back from the local charity shop and I managed to have a slight rummage and got a cross-over tan bag for 50p, it's not branded but it will do, doesn't even look used! When i got home I saw the 'thing you get in new bags and shoes-like a sachet of salt' (sorry, don't know what its called) so it's definitely new! I'm so happy I finally got the courage to have a proper look and found something!:j nothing really like some of the finds we see on this board but I'm getting there with practice!;)

Keep your finds and stories coming!:)
