Wondered why the old thread was so quiet lol! Sunday's car boot I found
Baby sling for 50p (lady clearly didn't know what it was),
Happyland wedding set £1 (for a xmas present)
Some nice kids clothes for my little ones, max 50p each
Lovely white flan dish 20p
Then popped into the local charity shops this week and found a gorgeous soft leather monsoon handbag, like new for £7.99 (maybe more than I usually spend in a charity shop but I do love it!) and a last season's Next jumper for DD - £1.25 in perfect condition.
So a good week for me0 -
I am so jealous of the Urban Outfitters stuff (and everything else too)! Any idea why he was selling all that? It seems such a lot to sell for so little. Well done for you though
His sister works for them and gets first dibs on sale stock at a heavilly discounted rate. It must be a massive discount to be able to sell leather bags marked at £32 for 50p!
I love Urban Outfitters but only ever go there for inspiration as it's so ridiculously overpriced.
Well done on the coat, Penny_Farthing! Who needs Primark when you can charity shop? xx0 -
I bought a Whistles blouse grey with lots of lovely details from West Oxfordshire Animal chairty shop for £4 its so cute but it kind a hangs off me in an unflattering way so will probably ebay it next time i get enough good things to sell together.
Bought my son a box of brio to add to his unbranded collection of train stuff. It had another train in it Gordon apparently. Looks new his other stuff looks well dirty now £4.75 from Sue Ryder.
Oxfam 25p vanilla wax tart smells delish0 -
Got a 1950's Lloyd Loom Lusty lidded laundry hamper (£4), Professional mix desk (£5) and a 1960's smoked glass ashtray in the shape of an apple (£1) for us at this morning's car boot sale.
What will tomorrow hold?0 -
I visited 5 charity shops and didn't pick up a thing. I really have no luck with charity shops... car boots I can get along with but charity shops just aren't my thing!
I did see an Apple Bottom bomber jacket (Apple Bottom is an American brand, made popular over here by that hideous 'Apple Bottom jeans, boots with the fur...' song) that would probably have done well on eBay but it was £6.99 and I was a little repulsed by it!
I'll be looking out for jumble sales from now on.0 -
Not to do with ebay or car boots but I think I got 2 good deals off of ibootsale.co.uk (haven't come yet but both sellers have good feedback)
Fully working laptop with xp disc, charger, etc with one minor fault ( I can fix) £30 including postage!
Final Fantasy Game boy game: 2.50 including postage!
Well done on all your bargains, can't wait for the real car boot tomorrow but I'm having just as much fun looking through a virtual one0 -
my best and favourite bargain I've ever had from a carboot or charity shop is a little TROIKA vase. I was extreemly lucky to get it from the shops round here. got it for 95p sold it on for £180.
im a carboot addict though. love going to them and getting bargains. if you pick the right ones some great bargains to be had still.0 -
I've just come back from our little local one and bought -
paperback novel 50p
Miss Sixty going out bag (been on the lookout for one) 50p
Beautiful beaded Indian outfit, tunic and trousers for daughter's multicultural day in school 50p (gutted that yesterday I spent £5.50 on fabric to make one!)
a cd single I've wanted for ages 20p but it had the wrong one in so not happy but my fault, should have checked.
Avril Lavigne book for daughter 50p
drink for us all afterwards in Wetherspoons £9 grrrrr!!
Hope everyone had a successful morning!0 -

I webt to my first real car boot sale testerday and had a great time (I'm really nosey and love rummaging through people's old stuff).
There certainly wasn't loads of stuff I wanted (in fact a a lot of rubbish, and broken things) but I really enjoyed it for some reason, I think it was the possibility of getting a real bargain, any way I did get a floral cardigan, thats very similar to a topshop one I wanted, for 50p and my boyfriend got some sweets which kept him happy.
All in all, inspired by Goanmad I'm definitely going to start going to as many as I can.Started Comping 25th September 2013.
