From a carboot today, Orla Keily wallet, brand new with price ticket inside for £67.
    Bought after much haggling for......£3.50
Saving money right, left and centre
  • I went to another local carboot yesterday, didn't find as much there but did pick up:
A cute little teapot to put on an empty shelf in my kitchen-50p
    A book-50p
A solid wood table, quite small, I would say it was the small one from a nest of tables - £1. It needs a bit of TLC on the top but when I go back to the good cb I went to, I'm going to try and find a bit of material to cover it like a table cloth.

There is a charity shop about 5 minutes walk from my house, I'm on holiday from work atm and have nothing planned tomorrow so I am very tempted to walk down there to see if I can find anything! Bit low on funds but luckily DH is paid before the next cb:T
  • Went to a carboot today, only half the amount of people this time, think it's because rain was forecast. It was a bit dull this time but managed to get:
    Two lovely scarves 50p each
    3 books from a series I have been reading 50p each :j
A small glass candle holder with cats hand painted on 10p
A dark blue ceramic cat with a gold collar 10p
That was it this week...I suppose they are likely to be a bit hit and miss.

I did get, from a charity shop a really lovely floral dress from New Look for £4.95 really chuffed with it. :T

I am debating going to my local one again tomorrow to have a mooch around.
  • Because of my disability I found it hard to visit many of the charity shops around London so trying to find that something special was difficult. Then I found curbfind on facebook listing designer labels for sale in the London charity shops. So a big thank you to curbfind keep up the good work.

The best charity shop I know is full of absolute bargains, even designer shoes.

I've got items there for less than a quid and sold them for over £100 on quite a few occasions.

Recently discovered the wonders of carboot sales :)
have been to the local 'big one' which was quite disappointing. just lots of junk, baby stuff.. nothing exciting apart from a lovely butchers stall - selling amazing bacon packs for £10! and this lasted us two weeks, when we consume bacon on the daily basis pretty much.
but then stumbled upon accidentally onto the less bigger one aparently - and it was brilliant! got a lovely leather jacket (size 6, which I thought was rare to find) for a £1. Brand new spot lights for living room, also £1. one of those lovely mannequin jewellery holders for 50p (bargain) as well as an african mask framed from the same vendour for again 50p. paper shredder brand new in box untouched £1 (really needed one, and was unwilling to for out aprox £20 for one); some cheap but pretty new look jumpers and the best thing yet some modern new bathroom sink taps for £5 - installed them myself and they work so well! extremely happy. Going back this week to the same carboot, fingers crossed it will be up and running as well as good - no apparent junk last time for those that do not have kids. (oh there was a really gorgeous wine rack as well last time! but the seller wanted a fiver for it, but I felt really bad to haggle with them and do not drink anywhere near enough wine to justify buying a small wine rack). :rotfl:
  • Sorry to show off. I've had quite a few smaller bargains but this is by far

Rare Carl zeiss jena ww2 u boat binoculars £200 paid

Bit if research done, whacked them on ebay £3900!
