It's not quite a charity shop but a year ago I got a book from 'The Works' for £2.99. I temporarily lost it (found it now) but needed something from it so went on to ebay and amazon to track it down.....low and behold, it's currently selling for £40!

Have they actually sold for that sort of money (you can check completed listings on eBay) or is that just the price at which they're currently offered for sale? It's not quite a charity shop but a year ago I got a book from 'The Works' for £2.99. Ebay keeps messing with the page layouts but you'll probably find the Completed Listings link on the left of the search results page, under the heading "Show Only".0

Not so much a booty but went round someone's house who said they were moving house and had a load of stuff to shift. Got myself a working Flymo mower & Bosch Hedge Trimmers for £4 and a few other bits all at £2 an item. Was chuffed.
Someone bought the hedge trimmers from me this morning for £15 at the carboot. Didn't sell the flymo, someone offered a tenner but know it can make more.
Doubled my money today after entry fees. I got 8 boxes of general pottery, crystal ware & pottery for a tenner. Sold 20% of it for £20 or so.
I noted that having everything priced up and fairly well positioned signs on the stall made a huge difference!0 -
