I bought a big bag of old christmas decorations from a jumble sale a few weeks ago for 50p - I sorted out the ones I wanted to keep and sold the rest for £40 on fleabay :j0

Hey all, I love reading these. I never seem to get good deals when I go to car boot sales/charity shops. Though I did buy my favourite pair of jeans from a charity shop for £1 - they are hardly ever off me except for washing :rotfl: Proberbly the best buy I ever made.
My dad is an addict though and it always amazes me the things he gets for the price he pays! He bought a little wooden sea set with boats and people for £1 for my children and it is truly beautiful! He buys all his christmas/birthday cards from charity shops where he picks them up for about 10p each - he has bought the most amazing clothes for me and the children without hardly spending a penny!
I aim to be like him!

Hi All. Just found this thread, and loving it!
I have been off work for a few weeks following a mini operation and went out yesterday for the first time, and ended up heading straight to the locals CS's for a mooch.
I bought... a blouse\fake cardi combo for £2.50, a work blouse for £1.25, a suede jacket for £2.50, a BNWT beaded velvet clutch bag for friend for £2.50, and a brand new immaculate sterling silver bangle for a tenner for SIL xmas pressie.
My best bargain ever was at sons school fair I got brand new unopened full size Clinque liquid soap, together with the biggest Clinique Clarifying lotion 2 I have ever seen (487ml) and it was £4 for both!.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -

Been conned a few time recently at the car boot. Bought a new M&S jumper and it had about 5 holes in the sleeve and worse than that it was for OH and I didn't notice it. He came though with it on showing me the damage. Bought a pair of Bearpaw sheepsin boots and the soles are split, its not visible until you bend the sole.
Was there this morning and lots of fakes including UGGS, DVD's and named silver jewellery. These sort of sellers waste it for everyone.0 -
Took me ages to find this thread!!
Was at boot sale on Sunday morning and bagged a pair of black faux leather shorts from River island for 2.00, Monsoon jacket for 2.00, little lace cardigan for 1.00 and best of all a REISS ruched bodycon dress, still with dry cleaning tags attached for 6.00!! Was soooo happy - would have cost me a fortune in the shop.
Also bought a cute little tartan coat for the cat - he's well sorted for Burns Day now0 -
you deserve those finds for braving the cold!! :rotfl:0

Lol - I'm not that brave - it's in a multi storey car park - snow, sleet, rain, I'll be there!!!0

I scoured the local charity shops today for some clothes for ds who has had a bit of growth spurt lately, his trousers are all looking embarrassingly short :rotfl:
Was very lucky to find a pair of h&m jeans, a gap shirt, an umbro tracksuit and a pair of next shorts all in his size all in like new condition for £9 in total :j. Also picked up a lovely Zara jacket for the summer for my dd for £2.00.
Have not been frequenting cs's lately, went off them for a while as they seemed to be full of tat locally but today has inspired me to make my visits more often, just must keep myself away from the books, we have far tooooo many0 -
Mum got my lo a lovely mothercare baby sleeping bag - she paid £1.25 for it and she says its immaculate! i thought my 2.99 one of ebay was a good bargain.
Haven't found much in the local charity shops recently - I did get a lovely m and s skirt for £1 that matched a jacket I got in another charity shop a year ago for £2.50 - so that was me sorted for a friends wedding :j roll on booty season!
how is everyone else doing?Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)0
