  • I see it's gone a bit quiet here, now that the car boot sale season is at an end. I found a nice set of 4 cups and saucers in the shop I volunteer in. They had been put out for sale, with each cup and saucer priced at £1.50. They are by Elizabethan and the pattern is "Chelsea". It's very retro, 1970s looking. Each cup and saucer is a different colour. The only problem is that they appear to have been a set of 6 in different colours, so I thought I'd have a look on eBay to see if they had the missing two. It seems the patterns "Carnaby" and "Portobello" aren't too hard to track down, but not the "Chelsea" pattern - grr! They are similar, but they're not the same as the Chelsea one. Of course I'm now going to be obsessed trying to find these 2 darned cups and saucers, I'm a lost cause...and I don't even drink tea or coffee!

Well I'm still charity shopping like mad but refuse to pay prices if I think they are unreasonable, such as £7.50 for a secondhand cardigan and I dont like to pay more than £2 for my 11 year olds clothes unless its something really special but that hasnt happened yet.

Went shopping this morning and found a lovely long chunky black cardigan for me for £3.75 which is great. Looks brand new as I wont buy if its bobbly either! Got DD some tracksuit bottoms to wear on scout camp in a few weeks. Would have bought a John Rocha top for work but they wanted £5, and I didnt want it that much.

Came home really happy with my two carboot buys yesterday. Managed to get an xbox 360 dance mat with game for £4.

But my best buy had to be a willow pattern dinner set containing:

    5 bowls
    5 plates
    3 small cups and sauces
    2 bigger cups
    butter dish
    salt and pepper pot
    tea pot
    milk jug
    sugar bowl
    windmill and shoe ornamnets
    2 x one stem vases
    gravy boat
    3 egg cups

a grand total of £5 :j It will be perfect for me and my boyfriends first house together.

Just bought today in a CS, a scratch map that comes in a tube. You put it on the wall and scratch off the places you've been, selling in Urban Outfitters for £20, I paid £2. Its brand new, so thats a great Christmas present for my brother and sister in law, I was considering buying the Urban Outfitters one so well pleased that I found this.

  • Went to a JS with my Mum earlieron today, got a whole washing machine load of baby clothes only spent £2 (plus fuel to get there)!

I'm finding that charity shops arnt as cheap as CB's or JS's, my local RSPCA CS is charging £1 for 3 items.

And last week, I got a M&P moses basket with stand and accessories, baby bath, Tomy baby monitor and 4 baby grobag's for £30.

Picked up a carrier bag full of Bionicle pieces this morning - cost me £1. The eldest has so far made 5 full Bioncile with it and is still at it....keeping him quiet if nothing else which is well worth £1 of anyone's money!
  • I got a pair of baby pink Dr Martens in my size for only £10. Really great condition. I don't usually spend that much at boot sales but I just couldn't resist as I have a little collection of Dr Martens already so am a big fan.
