I love reading (usually with green eyes) about everyone's bargains on here. I went to my first car boot of the year today, and there are two more tomorrow morning. Got pics on my blog of everything if anyone's interested but I got...
- cream hanging basket with leaf design (a little rusty, but adds to the shabby chic charm!), 50p
- bright red vintage paraffin lamp (still in original wrapper), £1
- piece of floral oilcloth, 20p
- silk flowers, 20p
- bright blue and green plant pot, 50p
- fisherman's basket/hamper (love this - using it as a table in my summerhouse), £2
- a big pile of wire wreath bases (for making Xmas wreaths...nothing like thinking ahead!), 50p0 -

Got a HUGE bag of lego (about as much as they already had and some more) for £10. Toddler M & S 'autograph' jeans and jumper, both new, for £2. I went to my first car boot sale for about 20 years today and was really looking forward to it - I remeber going round them with my parents as a kid and they would come out with bags full of bargains.
I was really disappointed, the CBS we were at seemed to be a lot of new stuff, the biggest load of rubbish or really expensive.
My DD saw a Natwest piggy bank she liked and he wanted £12 for it. I know some people like to collect these, but they are cheaper to buy on ebay.
One lady was selling about 10 Pauls Boutiques bags (dont know if they were real or not but I doubt it) and wanted £50. A charity shop near me sells them to (again, no idea if they're real or not) but they sell them for £30.
There was some nice baby stuff around, but no good to me as my DD is older.
And loads of people were actually selling their cars too. Wont be rushing back there anytime soon.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

Yeah I know, was so excited about going too
I've found another one that doesn't want new sold stuff there so may be able to persuade OH to take me and fingers crossed its better.

keep going to a few different ones, they all vary and its good research! :rotfl:.
I am waiting until the best one near me opens in June before I sell off the(hopefuly) the last of my stuff as the people who go to that one are generally nice and actually want to buy stuff rather than wanting everything for 10p! I think it helps if you do a CBS near a bus route so people without cars can also go?0 -
Since the CBS started in April near us, I have found some excellent bargains:
Teak garden table (seats 6) £8
2 fold up teak garden chairs (1 needs fixing) £2
Football boots for son (great condition) £1
Lovely wicker basket with handle 50p
Lots of Burleigh china (blue Calico design) for £3
5 PS1 games £1
Can't wait to find more bargains!0 -
Happy days here! Found a Winnie the Pooh toy with a rattle that lights up, and he sings and jiggles when you push his tummy. It had batteries in it and works fine - £1.50. just had a look online, the same one is 25 quid on Amazon! I'll have one happy little niece when that drops through her door!0
