Went to a local jumble sale this morning and got:

*Vintage floral 1970's Dolly Day Maxi Dress - destined for eBay, although I have tried it on and really like it, I don't think DH would go out in public with me wearing it!
    * 1980's patent envelope over-sized clutch bag - also destined for eBay
    * 1970's Moulinex Mincer/Juicer/Grinder - all intact, in original box with instructions! Can't decide whether to keep this....
    * Lots of old china plates and serving dishes, which I will keep as they are all very pretty.
    * few books for DD and DS and a Marguerite Patten cookbook for myself
    * Beautiful art deco style Hematite necklace
    * fews bits of clothing for myself and DH
    * Pair of Clarks Leather flips flops - to be Ebayed as they are a size too big for me
    * Pretty pale purple scarf with sparkly circles
    * Clothes brush in leather case for DH - didn't look like it had ever been used.

Not a bad haul for £15!
Another jumble next weekend - can't wait!

Managed to find a little jumble sale this morning, it was mostly rubbish but I got two things:-

-French connection brown knitted vest top 30p
-Set of 6 either 60s/70s style or possibly vintage coffee mugs called "Mugs Away" by Staffordshire Potteries brand new in box, anyone know anything about these and when they might be from? There are no dates on them but they're very groovy patterns and the box is suitably old looking, although they look as if they've never been taken out. £1.50

Then went to a car boot outside a local undercover market and found a stall selling clothes 50p or 3 items for £1 so I got:-

-Billabong mens cargo shorts in stone colour for my OH, practically brand new condition.
-H&M mens camel colour cargo shorts.
-Red Herring white long sleeve mens shirt, with black stitch detailing.
    -Zara black cardigan for me.
    -Network black jeans.
    -Nudie Jeans blue distressed jeans.

From the same stall I also got a H&M brown wool short jacket with gold buttons for £1 and a dark blue cotton trench coat for £2, the guy even gave me a cotton reversible shopper bag to put the coats I bought in as I ran out of carriers! Great bargain day!
    Started Comping 25th September 2013.
October wins :j : Chapstick Goodie Bag, Mixed Case of Kumala Wine, £10 Two Seasons Gift Voucher, Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate bar, Schwarzkopf Colour Mask, Eco Soap Sample Bundle.

November wins: Cheerios 6 pack, MUA Primer

I bought a lovely Therapy vintage print tea dress from a charity shop today for £3.50 and two vintage patterns. I am going to attempt a skirt I think and see how I get on

Now for an early night so I can be up bright and early for tomorrows car boot sale. It should be busy if people are expecting the weather to be like today
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

Today I got a Fortnum and Mason Wicker Picnic basket for £3 - do I keep it for rustic logs when we eventually get a wood burning stove or do I pack it full of goodies for a Christmas Pressie? It's quite big.

I would hate you to feel guilty for scoring so many bargains so I think you should relieve your conscience and send the hamper to me....;)

    It sounds scrummy!!!!! :T:T:T
  • My local car boot hasn't started back yet, so I'm jealous hearing about all of yours! I did happen on jumble sale yesterday though. Picked up:
Three paperbacks and a box of notecards and envelopes (brand new) for £1
An antique hand-held mirror 80p (for eBay)
Bits of lace and ribbon 20p (for craft stuff)
A pair of Phase Eight trousers and two silk scarves £1

One of the scarves needs a wash but I'm going to do that today and I think it'll come up fine.

In the meantime, it's another fortnight before the car boot begins again....

Got some more bits and pieces this morning including a rather nice handcrafted slate ornament for 50p . I also bought some newish novels for myself at 30p a go and a small brass hedgehog ornamant for 75p.

It always surprises me at car boot sales though how some people so misjudge the market. There were tons of buyers this morning all jostling each other to buy, yet some stalls were so over priced that no one stopped for longer than a second or two. One only had about 20 things on it, all priced up with 'no offers' but with stuff like glass vases at £6, glass cruet sets at £5 and even a modern glass lemon squeezer (the sort you get in the pound shop in a set) for £2.
