Today I went to the local charity shops looking for books for my kids and got a good selection of what I was looking for including
Harry potter prisoner of azkaban 99p (ds is just finishing the chamber of secrets which he paid 5.99 for!)
Harry potter scene it 2nd edition brand new sealed board game with DVD for £3.00
Football trivia game brand new sealed for £1.49
Might be putting the games away and maybe give to ds as Easter presents0 -
This week I went to the local auction's general sale and bought a car full! Not all of it intentionally as in order to get the stuff I wanted I had to buy (& carry to the car) more boxes in the same lot!
My haul included:- Lots of odd cups & saucers
- Two set sets
- One dinner service
- Royal Stafford milk jug & sugar bowl
- A cream set of four jugs
- Lots of coronation and silver jubilee mugs and plates
- Lots of red stemmed glassware
- Two old mixing bowls - one has been used so much that the glazing has come away in places (gives it a lot of character)
- An enormous blue/black glass ball/vase thing that is sitting on my bathroom windowsill
- Lots of cut glass crystal that isn't particularly to my taste so is going to local charity shops
Tomorrow I'm helping out at my Mum's jumble sale. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure and I'm looking forward to it. After the auction I'm a bit spent out, but if there are any bargains going it would be rude to ignore them!0 -

I know its not the cheapest thing ever but its a bargain to me as I have wanted one for ages! In one of our local CS today I bought a vintage Snow Leopard Astraka fake fur coat for £30. I am so pleased with it as it is in mint condition with all the original plastic clip things/labels etc...0

Today I popped to a 'specialist' charity shop and bought a vintage Clarks, maroon clutch bag and lightweight off white blazer (Lands End) for the grand sum of £1!! There was a 50p bargain rail!! I also got an original 1940s black dress for £30...not such a bargain to some but it fits like a dream and is a wonderful bit of history...it would have been a lot more but it looks like moths have been feasting on the skirt of the dress....nothing a half slip won't fix!!
I'm a bit obsessed by 70's maxi skirts atm and will be hunting around soon for one as I'm quite tall and the original vintage length ones seem to fit me!Hope you're having great weekends...mine's pretty rubbish as it looks like me and my OH are breaking up
...other than that vintage hunting has been fun!! X

I've not made any purchases recently but wanted to pop on and see what goodies you have all been getting. I think my local bootsale starts this weekend, or it could be next weekend - better check. Very exited for the season to start againNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
Love reading about others bargins so thought I'd post some of my own.
Last week I got 6 paperback books on the Outer Hebrides - all ones I've been wanting to read for 50p each.
Today I got a Fortnum and Mason Wicker Picnic basket for £3 - do I keep it for rustic logs when we eventually get a wood burning stove or do I pack it full of goodies for a Christmas Pressie? It's quite big.
Also got what could possibly be an antique carved ivory necklace - with elephants on. I know you are not allowed to buy ivory now but if it is ivory then I think it is probably old. The beads that make up the necklace are quite small and every other one is carved with an elephant. The interspacing beads are also intrically carved. Anyway - I paid £1.99 for it.
