I went to some of the charity shops in Liverpool and i couldn't believe how expensive they were. Primark t-shirts £4.99!! However i did pick up a gorgeous river island bag for £4.99. Its in really good condition but probably about 5 years old!! I'm getting into charity shops after reading this thread!

Did a trawl of South Shropshire towns and all the sales / charity shops I could find on Saturday, and got lots of bargains - a heap of chick-lit books, a book on "doing up old junk", which is good, as i have big plans for various freecycle items, and a book on dressmaking, also a vintage-looking pink glass plate, a floral bangle, a vintage clarks green clutch/purse, a teddy coin-bank (xmas present for little sis), pink floral clock, and a vintage prom dress with velvet bodice and green and blue striped skirt..total spend about £40 :) pictures on blog shortly..

I saw your blog and caught a glimpse of your sewing machine. I've got a very similar one and loved it to peices!!! Sadly, the screw where you put the needle broke when the needle broke and haven't got a replacement since
Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to fix it?

I had a random search via Google and this came up (sorry about the long link!):
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JANOME-SEWING-MACHINE-PARTS-SPARES-ACCESSORIES_W0QQitemZ220487962085QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxq20091001?IMSfp=TL091001143003r24560

    Maybe worth calling them?
Good luck, I'd be lost without my sewing machine!

I dodged into the local charity shop today to avoid a heavy downpour....and sooooo glad I did!!

I got a moss green MaxMara silk shirt BNWT, with an original price of £120, - for £3  :j

And a M & S Collezione Italia skirt in a green tweedy mix BNWT, with an original price of £85 - for £2.50  :j

I shall feel sooooo smug wearing my £205 outfit that only cost me £5.50 :rotfl:

My dad has a sewing machine shop. He is a sewing machine mechanic and has been all his life i will private message you his number and i'm sure he will be able to sort something out for you!!
I have finally decided i am going to take a basic sewing course and learn how to sew. I'm 21 and have got away with not learning for so long!!!
