Great 60s dress on your blog Goanmad! My era would have to be the 1950s - I love nipped in waists and big skirts. With a little 1940s too as floral tea dresses are my biggest love. For the music though, it has to be 80s!
I recently picked this up while charity shopping - its a brooch in two sections. It is like a small dagger (although not sharp) and the handle pulls out of the cover. 50pNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
That's fab. My Dad used to work in the Middle East when I was small and brought back lovely things like that for us.

We didn't get far today but did pop round town to the local charity shops and hubbie picked up a book for 50p. Went to WH Smith afterwards and the same book was in the top 20 best sellers for £6.99. He's happyNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

I managed to pick up an as new (doesn't look used but not got tags) green suede Fat Face handbag in a local chazza shop for £2.50. Everything else in there was really expensive though. This one must have slipped through the net. I doubt they realised what Fat face is and I don't think they thought it was sued because other not nice bags were far more expensive. Some things still slip through the 'ridiculous' prices. Just last week I got a still sealed face cream - an expensive but little known brand, sells in selfridges, harvey nics etc at £75 - for .... £1.49! Yipeee!0

All for 1.50, really pleased, have put away for DD for Christmas.
3 small toy car things ( for DS, 8 mths, as part of stocking. Have so many baby toys from DD that I refuse to buy more but she will wonder why santa has loads for her and not him so picking up small baby toys at CB and CS to give him with out spending a fortune!)
Lovely cream scarf - 50p, may have ruined it though as washed it on a 90 wash and its a bit stretched!
Cuddly Hello kitty for DD - 50p. Went into same 90 wash and came out perfect.0 -
I know it sounds a bit mean, but I agree with the comments about CS' being over-priced. It *IS* for a good cause and all that but some shops seem to over evaluate their goods (and sometimes undervalue for our own advantage!).
I've had some lovely bargains, but some things I've put back. Such as a gorgeous stripy dress that was missing a belt, yet the shop had priced it up at £7.99. I dunno, maybe I'm too much of a scroogeA woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.

Hi all,
New to this thread, but what a great thread it is!
Well done to all of you on your fantastic bargains!
I am a fan of CS, only really starting to appreciate them (I was dragged round them as a child).
I thought i'd share a couple of my purchases...
A gorgeous murano-style glass yellow heart necklace, complete with sterling silver chain. £5
A lovely River Island short sleeved lilac cardigan, with each button different, bit of angora through it so lovely and soft. Looks brand new, probably around £30 new. £3.49.
Both PDSA (Probably my favourite CS).
I have a Christmas meal/do coming up next month, so my aim is to find something new to wear from a CS!0
