Unfortunately the pictures are rubbish as I've not worked out how to turn the flash on yet :o

No label on this one £4 from Save the Children - it looks lovely on and I put in back on the rack once before deciding to go try it on. So glad I did

Marjon Couture this one £5 from Save the Children. Size 10 too which I never usually fit in a vintage size

Gorgeous! They'll work so well with leather boots and heaps of jewellery. You are a lucky girl. Thanks for letting us see them. x
  • Poor pickings in my local CSs currently - but I had a week in France recently and got a few things at antiques/flea markets...

2 ladies' pocket fob watches, silver, both working - €5 each
a gorgeous 1930s men's watch, cream art deco face and working perfectly - €8 (the strap was rubbish, I'm getting it replaced and intend to wear it myself)
a string of Murano glass beads - €2
2 handmade lace collars from about 1900 and a pearl mink collar - €10

Unfortunately, due to the fact that I was flying Ryanair, there were limitations to what I could bring back - 1970s maxi dresses were from €2 upwards!

I tried them on with my favourite tan leather Carvela boots which I think is what swung my decision to buy them. I am very much looking forward to wearing the blue patterned one to work with my riding boots as it looks very smart but quirky

No bargains discovered today. No jumbles on the horizon either this weekend but I am going to go to another town to charity shop on Saturday

Last Thursday car boot sale of the season today. Very quiet due to the weather. I got:

Boxed 1960's wedding dress and veil £1
Philips 1960's portable record player £2
    Vintage tooled leather satchel 50p
Vintage free-standing Philips car heater 50p
Boots Once sunscreen, unused and has saved me £11.99 - 50p
Eyelure semi permanent lashes (these were also on my holiday list) 50p

There was one jumble sale on this evening but it was at a playgroup so I gave it a miss, historically it's nothing but kids' toys and tatty high street clothing. There's a couple on tomorrow but I think we'll probably go pubbing it.
  • hope you put the wedding dress on your blog Goan!fab buys as always!

Thanks! It's such a good fit I'm considering chopping it and making it into a mini dress, it seemed like a crime to leave it behind for a quid (and I've got no intentions of doing the marriage thingy).

That dress is just the sort of thing I was looking for when dress hunting for the big day. Definately puts you in mind of Lisa Marie marrying the gorgeous Elvis
My eBay tip would be using localbargainfinder.co.uk as some sellers don't want to post large items, some don't post any and will only do collection strangely. I got a brand new released hardback book for OH last year for 99p because it was collection only. The shop price at the time was £12.00. The lady only lived in the next street so I met her at the top of the road 5 mins after the auction ended
