I actually did a CBS today, in order to get rid of items prior to moving house and I made £93 after the fee which wasn't bad for lots of old 'stuff'!! I shall probably try and spend it tomorrow at a CBS though!
I'm amazed at some of your bargains, lots of people want so much for ordinary items, either that or they want everything for nothing!!0 -

Had to run an errand at a town close to us so it would have been rude not to have checked the charity shops out.
I was horrified by the prices Scope was charging. I actually worked as a volunteer for them for 10 years and whilst I believe it to be a fantastic and deserving charity there's no way on earth they can possibly be serious when they charge £5 for worn TopMan tee shirts (with "TOPMAN" written on the price tag like it was Chanel), £12 for TopShop dresses at least 4 years old and £8 for washed out Primarni tat!! The lady at the till was moaning to a customer that at 10.15am it was the first sale she'd made - I wasn't surprised.
Anyway at Banardo's I did manage to score a 1970's kaftan-style maxi dress for a pal who is off on a cruise and wants to really dress the part (£3.99) and at Age UK I found some Faith unworn and boxed wooden heeled clog-style mules for £4.99.
Goan, I had a similarly horrifying experience a few months ago at an RSPCA shop. A very old, battered Ted Baker bag for £15, dated Karen Millen for £25, washed out Topshop for £10... a crying shame as it puts people off going in. Hope they realise sharpish and sort out the prices!
Hello to all! Been a while since I've popped my head in. I've been too busy to thrift and too busy to post! But have picked up some treats over the last week...
Next high waisted navy linen trousers, £3
La Perla beaded corset, £3.50 (this is utterly divine, so intricate and in perfect condition)
Topshop floral skirt, £2 (interestingly, this is a size 16 and fits my usually size 12 bottom half perfectly. I also have a Topshop skirt (from same charity shop) that's a size 8 and also fits like a dream. Absolute madness)
H&M white cotton shirt, £1
Big square glass pot with cork stopper, £1.50
Will try my damnedest to get up at 7am for tomorrow's boot sale and report back. Happy bargain hunting! x0 -
