i went for a little rummage this afternoon with the kids and have not had anything nice in weeks. Managed to get a mr bump book, power rangers toy and a pair of Bench jeans in my size BNWT all for £1.20. will hopefully fit me! was 3 items for £2.50 but couldnt find anything else in my size but lots of good labels.

Also went into another one on the way back and got a Mr Frosty for £2.50. only realised it was brand new in all its packaging after getting back so really pleased!!

I got an FCUK denim jacket today in a charity shop for £4.49. It looks like it's barely been worn and it's what I went out for so I'm happy! After checking out ebay, I wasn't able to get an unbranded denim jacket for that price so I'm glad I went looking. I would have been happier if it had been cheaper though!

Had to run an errand at a town close to us so it would have been rude not to have checked the charity shops out.

I was horrified by the prices Scope was charging. I actually worked as a volunteer for them for 10 years and whilst I believe it to be a fantastic and deserving charity there's no way on earth they can possibly be serious when they charge £5 for worn TopMan tee shirts (with "TOPMAN" written on the price tag like it was Chanel), £12 for TopShop dresses at least 4 years old and £8 for washed out Primarni tat!! The lady at the till was moaning to a customer that at 10.15am it was the first sale she'd made - I wasn't surprised.

Anyway at Banardo's I did manage to score a 1970's kaftan-style maxi dress for a pal who is off on a cruise and wants to really dress the part (£3.99) and at Age UK I found some Faith unworn and boxed wooden heeled clog-style mules for £4.99.
  • Went to a boot sale since the weather was glorious yesterday PM - it was due to run from 6 to 8pm, but got to one car just as someone was packing up (he wanted to get back for the footie...) Anyway, there was a box with one a big wooden battery operated clock in it, and also a grandfather clock face and movement (1970s, and not my taste in a face, but it was the movement I was interested in. Asked him how much he wwanted for the movement, and got the whole boxful for £5. The clock movement is complete and working, with all the chaiins, weights etc. Grandfather clock movements are still being made by a firm in Germany, and new ones are about £200, so I reckon it's a bargain - and a nice present for a friend who has a case and face, and can now put the whole thing together. Plus there was another clock in the box, an Art Deco Smiths wind-up mantel clock, also working!
