they have both 3rd Gen (no click wheel) and 4th Gen (with click wheel)
Both same price £117.50
Take yer choice
I went 4th Gen, but not for any specific reason ... but I know the battery life is better for a start0 -

I wonder whether Apple had originally intended to set the 20gb refurbished ipod at this price and the 40gb at the higher p[rice. It never made any sense that they were priced the other way round...0 -
got both ipod minis i ordered today,
they look new, but like some 1 said they probably replace the case and the battery which is good enough!
after charging it for about 4 hours it all seems good. for £87 it seems like a v good deal.
obviously now its better to go for the 20gb 1s whilst theyre in stock.0 -
Here's a tip. Second generation iPod Minis have double the playback battery life of 18 hours compared to 1st Gen Mini's 9 hours. How can you tell if you have a 2nd gen? Turn it over and if it has the hard drive size engraved on the back i.e. 4GB then it is a 2nd Gen Mini.0

According to the refurb store site, these are in fact the 1st Gen minis with less battery life:
23rd February 2005 was when the new iPod Shuffle was introduced, as well as the 2nd gen mini.
However, perhaps someone who has received a refurb mini could confirm whether they are the 1st or 2nd gen minis?YO!0 -
