cheap ipods at Apple Store (merged)

Sorry for what must really be a dumb question here, but can I just copy my mp3s from my pc to an ipod or does the software or hardware implement some sort of protection that would force me to use the original cd? Thanks.

You can probably just copy them but depends where they have come form, if they have been downloaded from one of the "legal" sites they will have Digital Rights Management DRM (type into google).

Basically the use of the track will be controlled and you can only use the original track a certain umbeer of times (aimed at controlling the digital download) but not something you get when you buy a CD and rip it at much the same (or less) price - but thats another story

Right. Ordered mine about two days ago. Got it today.

It's spotless. Not a mark on it (in normal packaging, etc). Had all accessories you'd normally get with it (plug, firewire to recharge, USB cable, headphones, etc)

Paid £90 for it.

Lol. I-tunes is a nightmare. I am looking for something else to do the same job.

nothing wrong with itunes! insert cd > import cd > drag tracks from library to ipod > disconnect

I buy the batteries in from China and resell them to some of the sellers on eBay.
