Apparently the IP address being used was in Maidstone, so def not me.....I guess it is all connected to the virus that I got on my own laptop, (and which am I still without!!).......so OH is buying additonal anti-virus stuff today for his laptop, just to be on the safe side, although I know that nothing is going to be absolutely failsafe.

duchy, egg can't even use the "am in India working from a script" excuse.....they are just very short of staff training, I guess. Good for you, though, for actually providing, shock horror, a SERVICE!!!

Going to have lunch now, then put on a DVD and do the ironing.......and the bathroom......and have a coffee or two before my visitor arrives!

Some of these companies are unbelievable.I cannot understand why you've had so much hassle with them. ..they have been absoluetely awful with you.
I also agree N Power are terrible as well...I really don't know how these companies survive.

These things are sent to try us........took my frustration out on the hoover, which was already in shock at the fact that it was being used

Still, any bit of fluff that DARES to still be on my carpets will soon know about it if it makes itself visible......just got to do the dusting and polishing downstairs and do the ironing (!), clean the upstairs bathroom, and I am done for the day I think.....

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
*Blimey I hope she doesn't have PMT too, or heaven help the poor carpets!*

I feel your pain hypno. Lloyds put a stop on my Debit Card at the end of November. They said there was irregular activity on my account. They sent me an automated message checking I'd made the last 5 transactions. I had.

Went to use my card the next day - still blocked. So I rang them, they inblocked it, very sorry blah, blah. Next day, tried to use it again - BLOCKED AGAIN
Spoke to a snotty little man who very patronisingly told me it was irregular activity and did I really want to be open to fraud?
I said check my account, I've just been paid and it's bloody CHRISTMAS!!!!

Blood pressure up a few notches that day.

Really hope you get it sorted. If not, do what I am about to with the Childcare vouchers - write to The Guardian Money section.
I feel like I'm screaming but no one can hear me, but they soon will when their incompetence is printed in a national newspaper!!!

I think they're all the same now. We did a bank transfer to pay for some holiday accomodation, the bank put a hold on internet banking as it was to a new payee. Took ages on the phone to sort out, not helped by it being winter and only having a signal when we were outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another time with a different bank credit card in the US, it suddenly stopped working, we phoned a few times and they said it would work, it didn't. When we got back there was a letter with a special number to ring!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently it had been used somewhere where an employee was under investigation. The fact that in the middle of an holiday in a foreign country they won't tell you what's happening doesn't say much for customer service. Anyway fortunately we had another card with us, and always try to have more than one credit card when we travel, just in case.

    Yep
I told Natwest I was going away in September and was told by regular in branch person they had a new scheme. Ring the number given when I got to the US (to confirm I was really there and really me) and they'd make sure my card wasn't stopped for irregular use-soooo I rang-and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Card didn't get blocked that trip-latest trip staying n the same city and the same hotel -with LESS spending on it than last time........and they blocked it GRRRR

Luckily I'd paid for internet access in my room before they blocked it so could find the correct phone number -was instantly unblocked-but what a PAIN
