*ahem* remember to increase your carbs for running days please - low carbs and running arent good bedfellows really
(will go back to lurk land now)
low carbs and a yeast allergy are good bedfellows though - so a bit more complicated than just not eating carbs for the sake of it.........
I eat plenty of green veg and salad though, so it's not as bad as doing Atkins.......
Anyway, I'm not exactly running marathons right now, so my half hour plods will probably survive!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
sorry becky - reading back, that sounds like I am ungrateful for the advice......not the case!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Okay fair enough - just be careful you dont try to do too much on too little calories.
(and we all love our plods - just spent 6 months doing mine)
And dont be silly wasnt taken that way0 -
i'm hoping to be able to plod for up to an hour in the shortish term......an hour to clear my head will do me the world of good, mentally, I am sure!!
I don't go fast enough to use up any calories, anyway :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Its all good for the system (just dont get into any fights with cyclists like I nearly did today - oppps)
Yeast allergy is a bit of bu*ger though - you can still have wine though right because otherwise that would be :eek:0 -
no wine........not when I am doing things properly.
But then, I don't normally stick to it for very long - I can't live without my chocs, sweet stuff and occasional glass of red  I did manage about a year at one point, but I have never managed more than a few weeks at a time since.......but when I do stick to it, it does reduce a whole load of niggly problems.....and has the added bonus of losing a few lbs too, so I need to do it right now for lots of reasons!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. *sound of crying from the no wine statement* Thats just pure wrong!!!
Hope it makes you feel better though0 -
I hope so too becky - if I can get through the first few days of crawling up the wall from no sugar fix, I will be fine. Stomach already feels better - if only I didn't have a sweet tooth, I could happily do it more often!
And the occasional glass (or two) of wine once in a while wouldn't kill me.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Well done on resisting the lure of the demon sugar. I am a total FIEND when it comes to sweet stuff, so I feel your pain.
You could try liquorice or dried datesslightly healthier, but still a sweet fix. I find a couple of squares of dk choc satisfies me too (sometimes:rolleyes:)
Before I got married I did the Carol V detox. It was hard, but the sugar craving soon left me. When I discovered dates, it was a revelation! I said to DH 'Would you like a date - they taste like TOFFEES!"
He looked at me and raised his eyebrows and said "Bless":rotfl:0
