    Right - !!!!!! first.....

About 10 years ago (pre house from hell, just.....) we looked around a development - a conversion of an old victorian hospital. OH particularly liked the chapel, but they had no plans for the development of that building at that time. When they did develop it, the price tag was silly-high.

Today it is in the paper.......empty......and silly-low price. Click here and you will see what I mean.

In many ways it seems daft not to at least go and look at it again - it would be within our reach even with the debt at the level it is, if we could achieve a quick sale on ours. HOWEVER, it does not tick absolutely all boxes as it has no garage, parking might be an issue, etc, which means that it is not totally dream house.

I think it will be a case of.....not quite right.....but I may be tempted to go and have a look over the weekend!!

  • It's a stunning property and would be one of those places where every time you went home to it it would make you smile, I reckon. I wonder if the compromises would be worth it though? No harm in looking though eh!

Longtime lurker and admirer here! I say go look at that lovely house! I would def consider doing what you suggest re mortgage ,as you then could relax your short term mega -debt busting and settle into simply one bigger long term mortgage payment in that beautiful house, garage or not!:D

There is a bit of parking, but nowhere for a garage.......which means no where to store all the millions of skis (and all the other crap) we have.....

Oooh, that's gorgeous. Is there any access to that land behind in a car? Could you build a garage there a bit to the side? My uncle did something similar and it's working brilliantly.
