My lloyds overdraft is current overdrawn but within the limit, and it is not showing anything difference.....

I used to have student overdraft of £1,500 with HSBC (i graduated in 2006) and my credit files is showing no balance whatsoever even though i was always overdrawn but within the agreed limit back in 2004,2005 and half of 2006!

I can't really figure out, perhaps only recently HSBC have started reporting balances for student accounts? Mine certainly don't!

Bunch of muppets! Who do they think they are? I'm happy you dont seem to have the care in the world, but for most people, it can be extremely damaging!!

Hi Noah - hows it going mate?

I told HSBC to reinstate it or i'd formally complain to their head of fraud that went through everything with a fine tooth comb at application stage. It was as if her team of minions had taken it away without reading her notes agreeing it personally! lol

They put it back almost instantly..... I have still complained to her though cos its wrong what they done. I am going away next week (yay 2 weeks in the caribbean) and may have needed it! Luckily, Cuba uses a closed currency so i'm taking a wad of £20's! BUT it could have been so different which is what i'm moaning over lol.....

Gives me summat to do (moan) when working nights lol..... My credit file is fine, the links went overnight and now just have searches.

I had my HSBC student account since March and my overdraft shows every month on my credit file so maybe it is a recent thing to display the overdraft.

I have no problem with HSBC showing my overdraft because I always within the agreed overdraft limit.

Cheers Innocent! I am just glad i will get the 3-1 card.
It is not easy to get one from HSBC, they are a hard nut to crack!
ie behaviour score had to be over 50, mininum income per month is £750, and no other debts owning on account to have one.

Forgot to add, they did a credit search before approving the 3-1 card. I thought that was unusual, is it the norm for HSBC to carry out credit checks even for upgrading accounts?

Hi Mate, this is unusal for them to carry out the credit check. When I went from a 2 in 1 to a 3 in 1 they just clicked a few buttons and off you go... This was a few years ago tho!

Could anyone confirm HSBC do undertake credit checks as standard procedure for upgrading accounts?

It doesn't really matter anyway cos i succeeded!

Innocent - How come you got 2-1 card in first place with HSBC? New customer? My next step is to get the HSBC credit card.

A few years ago when I was upgraded to 3 in 1 mastero with HSBC there was a message in internet banking asking me if I wanted to upgrade.

I agreed and they sent the card without doing a credit check but this was in 2007.
