Criteria for HSBC Bank Account

Hi fellas

Currently i have a full authorised HSBC Visa debit card, but would like an upgrade to a 'proper' Visa debit card.
What are the critieria in order to have one?
My internal behaviour score is 57 but still have a small balance (£250) managed loan left.

I've been told i must get at least £750 pm credit for 3-6 successive months (to show consistency getting more than £750 pm regularly).

I have now paid more than £750 pm in the past 3 months.

Am i now eligible for an upgrade or the managed loan account is still owning therefore i have to clear the balance?

Remember my behaviour score is now 57 even with the managed loan (although a small amount is now owning).

    I'm a little confused.

You want a Visa debit card which you already have?

There are 2 free current accounts offered by HSBC.

Basic which is a basic account.
Bank which requires a minimum of £500 a month going into the account to qualify.

The Bank account gets a card like this:

Which is a proper Visa card.

Not sure what you get with the Basic account though.

Plus customers get a nicer Visa debit card though.

You're getting confused, Noah has what is called a full authorisation debit card (replacement of the solo) so it must be authorised at POS or declines.

I have the full card (3-in-1) which does not need authorising at POS. I also have a 3-in-1 Plus card..... not taking away the fact cheque guarantee is going, they still offer two types of card and as things stand today if you have the 2-in-1 card then its a full auth card. 3-in-1 cards are not full auth.

Noah - from memory you need BH60+ to get a cgc so i'd leave it another couple of weeks til the next update (2nd Nov) then you should be fine - you could 'try' now but if they say no, it'll hold you back 3 months!

Just say you want to get a cgc (for takeaways etc) and if your score permits they will say ok....

I thought it is BH50 plus for HSBC to consider offering the 3-1 card? And also i thought it is updated every 7th of each month for internal behaviour scoring?

It was only 4 months ago my internal score was 39, and the staff at branch have said with the managed loan outstanding, it will never go more than 39!! They said because of the managed loan it is dragging down the behaviour score! They either telling me fibs or they don't know what they are talking about! Funnily enough 4 months ago, i decided to use HSBC as my 'main account' and obviously the behaviour score have dramatically improved in those four months!

I would have thought it'll be the 7th or maybe the 8th after monthly statement has generated.

My guess is the CG, that is showing the difference. If HSBC have stopped issuing CG cards, then the only way to find out is to try it out with the offline terminals and see if it works or not. Also i think (maybe i am wrong) you can get up to £500 ATM daily opposed to full authorised (£300 ATM daily) Full authorised cards will automatically decline using offline terminal/device payment. Personally it happened to myself on the train one time and had to use Lloyds card (with £250 CG) which was accepted.
