Sarah, what she said! I have had a money wobble this week too but am over the worst now and will be so good when it's gone!
Got a big night out on Saturday as a leaving do for one of my lovely colleagues. She worked with me in my old job and I got her this one so I'll miss her but I always knew it was temporary. Going to have a few drinks at mine first and then booked a booth in a cheap bar in an attempt to keep costs down.
Oh and not that i am at all excited but SATC 2 IS OUT ON FRIDAY. Sold out Fri and busy Sat but can't wait to see it on Sunday!!!!
Glad you're all well XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Hi all - I haven't been on here in aaaaaaages, Largely it's because a lot of the money issues I had a while back have been resolved, so it's no longer something I think about every hour of the day, but I do still need to keep myself and my spending in check every now and then (hence the visit for some motivation!)...............:o
On the relationship front, I'm still single and have, kind of, accepted that. Went through a bad spell where I was just angry at everyone who wasn't in the same position as me. Heaven help any smoochy couples who dared come within half a mileHasn't helped that I've been getting into touch with a lot of people from school recently and they're all married so they inevitably ask the same of me and I have to say, "Noooo, not married.............no, no boyfriend..........." It's my birthday in a few weeks time and I'll be 34. The last time I had a boyfriend I was 17 and at Uni, so it's frightening to think that it's been half my life since I last had a cuddle from anything other than a cat
I've been pretty used to it now, and it's only when I'm reminded by others how 'different'' (whatever that means) my life is that it makes me think about things and wonder why I was the one who got left behind. Well, that and getting older which is a natural thing. My best friend being pregnant is probably another reason - not that I want kids at all - but it's when I hear her talking about how loved she feels, etc, that it does tend to make me reflect a bit. Give it a few days, my birthday passing and I'll be fine!
Anyhow, SATC 2 out this week, so I'll be at the late showing on Friday on my own and if one happy clappy couple start smooching anywhere near me, they'll be getting an overpriced cinema purchased diet coke chucked over them! I watched the first film on DVD today and I can't wait for the new one :TAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Souk - thanks for reminding me about SATC 2. I'm planning a fab day (birthday treat) on Saturday for my gay husband - we're going to a spa for a session in the sauna / steam room / jacuzzi - I got it for £10 each through mycitydeals.co.uk and then for a cheap curry in Brick Lane and I'm going to top off our day with SATC 2.
It is a big surprise - although I've told him to bring his trunks so I'm sure he's guessed some of it!!!
Bathgate - Hello again! And I wouldn't worry about smooching couples. When I saw SATC 1 the audience was about 95% women out for a laugh with their friends. The atmosphere was fantastic, we all cheered as the theme tune started!!
My other exciting news is that I've FINALLY reached payout on Onepoll so hopefully £40 is winging it's way to me!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
I'm in the middle of a big money wobble... Spent over £100 on Saturday as I had to go clothes shopping, I had no shorts or flip-slops so splashed out on a pair of each and a t-shirt. Then hosted a huge BBQ and ended up spending far more than I'd intended on charcoal, food etc. Somehow have to find money to pay my rent over the summer (not got anywhere to live yet!) and buy food too... dammit! The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha
I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0 -
I have to work extra hours tomorrow, but been promised an early finish 1 day next week, I hate doing extra hours, got a busy weekend, going to a reunion Saturday and going to see a Clash tribute band on Sunday, there's quite a few people going who I used to work with so should be a good night. I daren't spend owt tho cos I know my visa bill is coming next week and it's going to be huge.
Makeup your right about SATC my sis is going with her daughter and friend, so think it will be mainly a female audience.0 -

SATC 2 was good - no great storyline but a nice way to spend a few hours with old friends! Mostly women and the former Scotland player, John Collins which was a bit unexpected. I do love Steve, even if I think Miranda was daft to take him back......................I do know it isn't real, but still!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

You'll be so proud of me; I've bought 4 pairs of shoes/sandals in the last 2 weeksI dont think sarah will ever speak to me again, I'm so far beyond frugal it's nearly frightening ... have promised to be very good for the next couple of months though & actually clear some debt.
Must watch Josh now, then it's time for a Gordon0 -
Go Lula :j I have not been at all frugal (am blaming pre-hols needs - pedicure, flip flops, books etc
) so I will be in Sarah's bad books too
