Well I'm here!!
Came straight home from a meeting and so started the weekend early!!
Operation Packing has commenced in full vigour and I'm sure they would have had to send a seperate recycling truck for all the paperwork I dumped outside my flat last night. Lots of old leaflets and other carp I simply don't need.
I've also taken two massive lots of paperwork into work to shred - mostly very very old bank statements but also the paperwork from my claim to recover my bank charges.
My room is a tip though but hopefully can restore order at some point.
On financial front I was surfing looking at various wallpapers for ideas. I'd found one I quite liked and made a mental note. Then I got an email from Laura Ashley and their wallpaper is half price until Sunday.
I'm actually away for a Christening this weekend so rang their Cheltenham store (en route) and they're holding me three rolls.
I'm dithering though, it is for my bathroom and it does say suitable for well ventilated bathrooms and kitchens but I know my Dad had his doubts about papering a bathroom.
However the total cost for the paper is about £40 so if it only lasts a year I guess it isn't a massive loss. But then on the other hand maybe I should make a more considered decision with samples hanging etc etc.
But it is half price ..... aargh!
I dropped into Tatco this afternoon on the way home and snagged the latest Glamour with a free Bad Gal. However can I make my own recommendation that anyone getting the mag thinks about getting the Eye Bright. I already have this product and it is a complete lifesaver. It is a pale pink reflective eye liner - use it on the inner rim of your lower eye lid and it totally wakes you up. Perfect for the morning after the night before or if you've been lacking sleep. You can also use it on the inner corner of your eye to make your eyes really pop. I love love love it and it is one of those products where people don't realise you've any make up on but think you look really great. :j
Am off on this truly bargain-tastic weekend though, we're staying in a premier inn for £15 each (£29 per room) and I think the car hire is working out at £20 each too. So room and travel for less than £50.
Plus as I'm driving I'm gonna be on the diet cokes so no expensive beer / wine for me! :beer:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hope you have a fab weekend makeup, I didnt get a choice of freebie but thanks for that tip about the Eye Bright - will now have to go get one, although there is no way I look anything like half way human without my mascara on - would rather go out wearing a paper bag than leave home with naked lashes ... people always ask if I'm ill
I also need to investigate the price of some chloe perfume *gulps & curses magazine for having scented strips in it*0 -
Aaargh! Complete nightmare. Car hire place rang to say they may not have a car for us tomorrow.....!!!!!!???:eek::mad::eek:
Apparently some kind of car shortage and their carpark is empty!!????
I've to ring tomorrow morning and see what the situation is.
I'm absolutely fuming, we're going rural for the weekend and we can't manage without a car and I'm not looking forward to having to try and do a massive ring round tomorrow morning trying to find somewhere with a car for us.I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Off to Mum's for a Sunday roast nowSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hi all, had a lovely day today. Mum got out of hospital which is ace. She was only operated on at 8pm on Wednesday!
Stayed in apart from a trip to Aldi and have just pottered, cleaned, ironed and am doing a casserole for the SC now. Hellish day at work tomorrow as Sale starts and then should be off Tuesday!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Hiya, bit of good news my old manager found a job on a website which is similar to what I do now, which is a 5 minute walk from were I live, if I get it it would be nearly £3 grand pay rise, so fingers crossed.
Souk glad your mums home, she'll probably feel better in her own home rather than a hospital.
Got next week off so this weeks gonna drag.0 -
Hey there!
Souk - great news about your mum. I hope her recovery continues quickly and painlessly.
Eco - Oooh! Good luck with the job application. How fab to have a job right by home! And the pay rise is fab too!
I had a fab weekend. Managed to get a car in the end - after quite a bit of hassle but they gave me a 20% discount which helped things!
Wasn't too pricey either - got a bargain room at Premier Inn - £18.75 for room and breakfast. And the car hire and petrol added up to £25. Didn't spend too much on drinks and meals but the carrppy food at service stations did add up somewhat.....hmmmm KFC, chocolate and diet coke maybe isn't the best travel diet???
We had a great time though, one of my friends did a really random cd for us to listen to and it was full of fab tunes both old and new, everything from Lady Gaga, Kate Bush, Carpenters, Groove Armada, Barbara Streisand and anything else you can think of!
The way home had the soundtrack of the 90s so lots of Mr Vain, Boom Boom Boom and No limits!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
