I've lost another 2lbs:j:j:j Only 2 more pounds and I am half way to my target:j. Looks like my £20 a week food budget is working:D. I had £1.10 left over and have given myself another £20 for this week, will go to the co-op in a bit as I have a voucher for 10% off and the fridge is empty:(. Makes a change to not be throwing anything out so I am pleased with myself about that, dread to think how much I used to just fling in the bin:o.

I haven't been on much as I am still stressing about money/work but it has got a little better and I think I will be okay, just want to get this year out of the way and I should be in a much better position. I am being as frugal as possible which is very boring, but hopefully I will be a lot more keen on it when I start to see the results.:) I am planning to make more than the minimum payments in Feb so that will be a start.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend:).

Hey Sarah that is great news. You seem to be doing very well on the frugal front - well done on the food budget.

And you are one month down only 11 to go!

Also well on on the weight loss, you must be finding clothes are looser now??

I've been really lazy this weekend.

Mostly chilled at homes yesterday, did a shop at Tesco for only a few bits but spent £13 :o

Then went out with my Gay BF and we did the Pizza Express voucher but I was bad and had ice-cream.....

Then today I returned a dress to Next so £8 back to me :T and now doing a bit of tidying and have some cooking to do to set me up for the week.
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

    Hey everyone,

glad to hear from you Sarah - was about to send a pm demanding to know why you were absent again :p congratulations on the weight loss too :A

I'm pleased to report that I have just scraped in with my January 5lbs weight loss target :D. I think putting those 2lb on again really scared me into action. I've now accepted that I am no longer a teeenager :( & therefore cannot just eat what I want & burn all the calories off somehow. It's sad but true; once over 35, & especially after having children; FAT STICKS LIKE GLUE .

I havent eaten chocolate for weeks, or cake or biscuits. Did buy some of that Options hot chocolate drink today & just found it sickeningly sweet & tasteless.

Having been fabulously frugal in January, I've already spent £183 in february - even scarier since it's technically still january :rotfl:I count months in terms of getting paid - that was friday so all spending now under February.

The worst part is that I have already spent £113 out of my Grocery/Household budget  but I do have enough household & toiletry items to last about 3 months now. I also stocked up on Body Shop body butters ( I love them & they are the best I've used for keeping skin soft & smell gorgeous too) as they are half price until 9.30 am tomorrow & I added in a lip balm to get the free delivery, got £1.55 discount as I have a card & earned £2 quidco cashback. Usual price would have been £28, but including the cashback I paid £11.86 :D

Yay for lazy weekend makeup & well done for returning a dress too :A
  • That is fab news sarahb, on lots of counts. Well done!

Don't you just hate that, makeup? When you seem to buy very little but it takes a big chunk of your overall budget!

Woohoo for not sleeping with the ex clarabella, often a positive, especially on a drunken night out :D

I'm finally starting to feel like things are heading in the right direction. Not necessarily financially as December's pay day was teeny due to my time off and I have lots of big bills coming up with the move. But definitely on other fronts...
    • a lady viewed my flat yesterday and absolutely fell in love. She's paid a holding deposit today so I can spend the next couple of months chilling without having to worry about not finding anyone!
    • started my big pre-move de-clutter yesterday. Sent a box of stuff to the charity shop and cleared through three cupboards.
    • had a lovely evening in with my parents, pizza and wine last night.
    • went for a long walk in the woods this afternoon - it was freeezing and stupidly muddy, but the clear skies and bright sunshine did wonders for my mood
    • new npower bill came in and I'm only £20 in debit! :T I was dreading it as I had the heating on a fair bit over Christmas.
    • got my entire flat cleaned and tidied and two loads of washing done and dried outside.
Not looking forwards to work tomorrow but needs must.
Wow, sounds like a really amazing place. I'm keeping everything crossed for a smooth transition through all the conveyancing nightmare.

Two receptions rooms is fab, will you have dining room and living room or something else??

Thanks :) at the moment the living room & dining room are open plan but I'm thinking of turning them back into separate rooms and then knocking the dining room into the kitchen as it's currently tiny. Ideally I'd like french doors and/or a conservatory too but we'll see...depends on prices and budgets!

I'll definitely be keeping up with before and after's :)

Hope everyone's having a good evening...anyone up to much? x

That's funny, because I've actually really enjoyed living alone and pleasing myself this weekend. I'm not great on my own and tend to dislike spending evenings alone normally so it's felt like a bit of a turning point.

And bored here too lol. I seem to have exhausted all my usual websites!

  • Yes!!

Although I'm trying to find a dress for my friend's wedding and am failing miserably. It's typical...when I have no money or occasion I see plenty...
