My advice, for what it's worth, is that if you find something that suits you, it is probably also sexy (nb. probably is in, in case you find that cute pj's suit you - pics of bunnies not v. sexy).
Find something that is comfortable to wear too - no point buying short skirt to show off fab legs if it rides up too much so you keep pulling it down, that will look uncomfortable not sexy.
And seeing as you are going to be buying a new house shortly (:j) can I advise trying on stuff you already have??? Maybe something you already own will work for this event???I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

The decluttering isn't going very well at all here, but it is only the 2nd. Did a tiny bit last night, but then had to sit down. Got v.bad PMT I think and keep having dizzy/faint spells. All I want to do is sit on the sofa eating.
Work is driving me crazy too. When you announce redundancies and then don't tell people exactly what's going on, you just feed a massive rumour mill, everybody gets stressed and bites each others heads off, which makes for a lovely working atmosphere...

Re: above - glad to see Souk has joined in, she will be much better as 'Gok' than me!!!!
My mini update:
Have finally renewed mobile phone contract with sensible head on. Was determined to get i-phone and was v. cross with o2 as I'm with them already but they wouldn't discount it so decided to leave and go with someone else. Was anticipating spending around the £35 pm for this.
However on ringing to disconnect they managed to persuade me to stay and I'm now on £20 pm contract. I think with all the things I want to achieve / do in 2010 - having swanky phone wasn't on list and really am better off getting lower tariff not higher.
I'm sure that with inclusive mins / texts can manage to stay within contract amount and then that way lower phone bills.
And if I move home this year will be on tight budget so will hopefully be thanking stars that I took cheaper mobile over expensive yet fancy.I've got my own flat :j:j

Oh wow, what do you do souk?
I'm a 6/8, but have put on weight and so feel pretty uncomfortable with it...need to tone up more. I'd say I'm a pear shape - small boobs, hips wider than chest (though not massively), don't like my stomach.
That said, I don't feel that loose fitting clothes flatter me. I feel good in smart dresses at work (this kind of thing) but that style wouldn't really be suitable for Sat night! I'm about 5'4.0 -
Sorry guys...I'm so slow tonight. Just got home and pressed send, didn't mean to ignore everyone else who posted!
makeup, you're dead right re: trying to work with what I've got, although I do have a few nights out coming up with separate groups so I could justify buying something as long as it's as under the £50 (£40, £30!!) mark as possible. I do have a dress that I absolutely love, but it's more formal than this requires, booo.
Well done on the phone contract, too! I'd love an iphone but my sensible head says no. Think how much you'll have saved in a year's time!
Gwen, I feel for you. What a horrible situation! I hope it all gets resolved quickly.0 -
Ooh I like that dress bibbity. Right if you're normally quite smart I'd go smartish. Is it a jeans and heels/glam top do or a dress and heels affair?'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Oh and well done on phone make up. I have a really cheap deal and a basic phone, don't need it to bake scones as my mother would say!
Gwen, hope you feel better X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Thanks girls
Good luck with the jobs Bibbity, let us know how you get on.
I only have a basic phone deal aswell. If I were rich, I'd like an iphone, but at the moment, there are other things I'd like more. Think of your amazing holiday makeup...are you still thinking of doing it?

Thank you:wave:The problem with all this frugality is that there is very little cashback in it.
