  • Hey everyone!

Thought I would drop in and say hi not been in a while! Seems we are all having similar problems this new year...my ex came back wanting to get back together but I am not interested and the boy I love, who is my best friend but with someone else I have decided to cut all ties with cos I can't cope anymore while he is not mine in the way I want.I am completley gutted we used to speak everyday and there has been no contact for 5 days! But I know it's for the best in the long run. :0(

Been very good on the spending so far this month though paid £400 of my overtime onto the credit cards so good start! I am supposed to be working nights tonight...but don't want to go if it starts snowing and I get stuck...but nothing yet!! I want it to start!!

    Happy new year guys xx

  • Hello everybody.

Really enjoying reading this board, such a friendly place!

I've been off work for two days with the remnants of a bad cold I've had all christmas. Thought I'd be alright to go back in tomorrow but now wonder whether the snow will delay my return even longer!

Good to see weight loss is on other people's minds and not just mine! I joined Slimming World about 5 week before Christmas and lost 8 pounds. Haven't been for 3 weeks but am going back this Thursday so hope I haven't put too much back on. At least focussing on it before Christmas and not leaving it until the new year means I should have put on less of the festive period that I otherwise would have.

Bibbitybob, I'll be interested to hear about your househunting. I've been renting a flat since moving to London 3 and a half years ago. It's exorbitant! I've decided to knuckle down and save for a deposit to buy by own house. I think it'll take me a good 2 years though! Got to start somewhere..

I have been looking online, but really I want to buy from a shop so I can try them on. Does anyone know where we can get any? I just want a cheap plain black pair.

Odd suggestion but if you only want plain what about somewhere like Milletts or a garden centre

:grouphug: to Money Fritter, stressed Gwen and all who need them!

I am in a v positive mood... friend of ex-flatmate popped up with a friend request on Facebook last night. Have only met him about three times and the flatmate moved out a year ago so am hoping there's an ulterior motive! - what you reckon? (He's cute, lovely and works in the same town where I go to college. Haven't figured out if he's single yet but will be ensuring I get back in touch with ex-flatmate.) :j Anyway has done my ego the world of good and as work trip cancelled due to snow will be up to a bit of extra goddessing later :D

    Rosa xx

    Thanks Rosa :)

Oooh, sounds promising! Have you added him? Is there any sign of a gf?

It certainly does! Look forward to an update on this storyline!

I keep getting tempted to use Facebook to flirt with Tom, !!!!!! and Harry. Only problem is my flirting is so subtle that they wouldn't notice and I'd be reading loads into any halfway polite responses!

Thanks Shoe Gal, never thought of a garden centre. I think it's going to be difficult ot find any wellies at the moment as everyone will be buying them. I had to go out in sandals before as they are the only shoes I have with any grip:rolleyes:. Must not let this happen again. Have seen some for £6 on amazon but I can't imagine we will be getting any post this week. I might try to get the bus to town tomorrow if they are running as the stop is opposite my house. I really don't want to be trapped in the house:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Aargh! Snowy and sludgy up here too. In horrible trainers to work again tomorrow and I hate it. Did go out today and spend my Boots voucher which was wildly exciting! Had a really productive day though. Bought some lovley healthy food in Somerfiels and Aldi which should see me right through.
    Rosa, sounds promising!
Shoe Gal, I too only have heels and flip flops and the wretched trainers, which are only really meant for the gym. Yuck
