Oh no Makeup :( But you're dealing with it now, so don't let it depress you, you're too fabulous for that! I can't believe you got up for spinning at that time, good on you!!! :j And if it helps today I had 2 bags of crisps and a kitkat for brekkie and then for lunch had pie, peas & gravy along with another 2 bags of crisps. Unfortunately I'm in a bit of a 'couldn't give a !!!!!!' mood :o I'm feeling quite content at the moment and although I should be depressed about my weight I'm just not (this could change any moment). I think it's coz my week starts on thursday, I'm not worrying about anything until then. So expect major ranting depressive posts come Thursday :p

Clarabella...did you manage to get your tree down? Mine is down but not packed away yet, although I have made a start by bringing the boxes downstairs lol I was planning on doing it today but 3 of my friends have been round since I got up so I've been mainly eating crap, drinking tea and gossiping

Lincs, good luck with the ww. I don't think 6.5lb is bad to put on over the festive season, I can do that in 1 weekend easy!

Sarahb, hope you're ok out in the snow today :D It's been bad here so I've managed to save £8 by cancelling DD's guitar lesson :money: most the schools were closed around here but DD's is open...hahahahaha!! She was gutted .. I wasn't ;)

Aww man I just wrote a huge reply and the stupid work computer lost it

Try not to beat yourself up makeup, and well done on taking positive steps. Is spinning good? I know my friend swears by it but I've never tried it myself.

Having a very busy day today, although in the office on my own. Thought I'd jump for a quick catch up on here as I've not taken a lunchbreak yet  Snow's looking very pretty out the window (well, as pretty as a car park can look...!). Hopefulyl the roads home won't be too bad as I'm viewing the walk in wardrobe house tonight :T meeting with the mortgage advisor went well, I can borrow a ridiculous amount more than I thought (not that I'd ever do it, the repayments really aren't sensible!) so just weighing up my options re deposit etc now.

Came into work yesterday to the news that a colleague died on boxing day. Very sad news, especially as she was only early 50's. It's put a lot into perspective though - on the one hand I'm now thinking there's more to life than where I live/whether I have a garden etc but on the other I'm thinking life's too short to not be living somewhere I don't feel like home

Anyway, going to stretch my legs as I've got a numb bum :D hope everyone has safe journeys home if you're at work!

Good luck with the house viewing bibbitybob. Sorry to hear about your work colleague, it certainly does put things into perspective! I agree with life being too short so do what makes you happy. If you want a garden, you go get one!

Hope you get home from work safely too.

Hi all, managed to not fall over today as I haven't left the house:D. Am practically snowed in, looks very pretty though.

I have weighed myself and I have lost the pound I put on over Christmas plus another one:jI won't count it unless it's the same on Sunday though as I do tend to yo yo. I do think it's quite odd that I have lost it so quickly. I am being sensible with portion sizes and have not had any alcohol for a few days but apart from that I am not doing much.

Make up, well done for going to your class so early, I can barely manage to get out of bed to go to work, never mind exercising:D

Bowski, poor dd! Lucky for you though;)

Bibbity, good luck with house viewing, am v jealous of walk in wardrobe:D

    Hi

Well done Sarahb! Fingers crossed for Sunday!

makeup - Good for you with the spinning, especially in this weather and that early  Like Clarabella says at least you know and you're doing something about it. I'm still burying my head in the sand..:o

Hope you get home ok Clarabella, it's bad out there. We were all pretty much sent home at 4pm. Got home ok-ish, only felt my grip go a couple of times :o and after a few wheel spins, I managed to park successfully. What is it with pedestrians though?? They walk out into the road in front of you and dawdle across like they haven't a care in the world...erm, have you seen the roads? If I have to brake sharply, there's a reasonable chance I could skid and hit you anyway!! And what is it with walking on the road because the pavement is too icey?? It's getting dark, I can't see you and if I had a choice between falling over and getting hit by a car, I know which one I'd go for...

Sorry, rant over. It's been a stressful couple of days for various reasons, the snow is the icing on the cake or the annoying powdery white layer that's just bringing more disruption to my life. I do appreciate it looks very pretty though, just wish I didn't have to get to work :(

I've brought some work home with me that I should be getting on with, but thought I'd jump on here for a bit.

Diet has pretty much gone out of the window already. I'm trying to exercise some restraint and cut down on the snacks or swap them for fruit. Called in to M&S last night to pick a few things up and then had a wander round the food section. Yellow 'reduced' labels everywhere!! I got some total bargains! I had to spend half an hour rearranging to freezer to within mm's but I managed to squeeze it all in and I'm well stocked up now :D

Thanks bowski & sarah - unfortunately the viewing was a disaster! It was listed as 'refurbished' but 'repainted' would have been more accurate...they'd just magnolia'd every single room, without repairing walls or stripping wallpaper. Lots of damp and rotting bay window. Really not worth what they were asking and I told the agent so :o but not too fussed as it gives me more time to save a desposit and enough pennies to get everything certificated etc to rent my flat out.

Glad to hear you've not been slipping anymore today sarah! Fingers crossed those two lbs stay off :T

Well done on your M&S bargain gwen, I thought about heading to Mr A for yellow stickers but now I'm warm I might just stay that way

Didn't get to work today, couldn't even get my car out this morning   Done some work from home but I'm not really set up for it so have had fairly lazy day :o

Diet is OKish - have been picking a bit today but there's not actually much food in - and I can't get out  No exercise though, no motivation :o Think I might start back at the gym when the snow clears. I did say I was going to exercise at home but I just can't motivate myself - need to do something

I think I am going to have to start visiting the library as I spend a lot of money on books.
Have been also doing this and it's much cheaper and saves on space - I have so many books I've only read once, I decided to order them from the library and only buy things I want to read again.

Women get fed these stories that men don't want comitment and are up for anything but when someone like me says 'Hi, I don't want to go out with you, I just want a bit of action once a week and then please can you let me alone to get on with my slow cooking/obsessive cleaning/dancing with gays' then they run a mile and go off with the first safe, sensible sort they can find!!!!
oh so it's not just me that gets the 'I don't want a serious relationship' / 'ok fine' / he promptly runs off with wedding dress obsessive!

:grouphug: to Money Fritter, stressed Gwen and all who need them!

I am in a v positive mood... friend of ex-flatmate popped up with a friend request on Facebook last night. Have only met him about three times and the flatmate moved out a year ago so am hoping there's an ulterior motive! - what you reckon? (He's cute, lovely and works in the same town where I go to college. Haven't figured out if he's single yet but will be ensuring I get back in touch with ex-flatmate.) :j Anyway has done my ego the world of good and as work trip cancelled due to snow will be up to a bit of extra goddessing later :D

I am taking the rest of the week as holiday as I really don't think I will be able to leave the house for the next few days, the snow is about 8 inches and it has snowed all day. I think tomorrow is going to be terrible as it will ice over and I will be trapped:eek::eek:. Looks like I will be having 3 weeks off for Christmas:D. Luckily I have food in and lots of chocs/snacks:D. Only half a bottle of wine though.

At least being trapped in the house means I won't be able to spend any money. I do need to get some wellies though, I should have got some a few days ago when it was possible to get out of the house. I will definitely get some if I can possibly get out, I will get them as cheaply as possible though, will go and have a look in primark if I get the chance, though that will depend on the buses running as I am not driving in this.
