Grrrr just managed to lose long and thoughtful post :mad:

In summary:

also had fingers burned, didn't realise how badly til recently, now making real effort to try and trust new people again. Also told friends how much I'd like to meet someone as turns out they didn't really know - because I never really told them. Now have support in my quest

Given up caring what other people think about Christmas and NYE, spending it with people I like

Thing nobody wants to hear - green eyed monster looks ugly but is often trying to help by pointing out something you've hidden from yourself. (Me included - I've never been jealous of something that I knew I was on the way to getting for myself, only things I thought I couldn't have. So when find am jealous, now have to admit to self what I really want and what am I going to do about it. NB. the admitting is the painful bit)

Don't care about pressie issue as since am not buying for someone else, get to spend money on self and get exactly what I most want :rotfl:(is this even more mercenary??)

Work do was okay, stayed til 10.30 so not out too late and had a long lie in today. Am still tired but feeling a lot better and am curently chomping my way through my Thorntons box:D. Need to get my final presents online tonight or tomorrow and then I'm done for Christmas apart from the wrapping.

I agree about this time of year being particulary carp for singletons:rolleyes:

Mmmmmmmmmm ................ thought provoking but I can see that you're right - especially the bit about how hard it is to admit it :rolleyes: Have told a couple of friends recently about how lonely I am - and they hadn't realised! Maybe the act I put on is a bit too good

yum to Thorntons :rolleyes: I am trying to diet (on my diary) but I have just had a bowl of cereal because I am starving

My work do on Friday - hence the dieting! Can't afford to buy anything so need to fit into a dress I have borrowed :eek:

I agree, am buying myself a few lovely things for Christmas to make up for not having someone to do it for me, no way am I missing out and this way I will get exactly what I want:D
