I am honestly not cold: have been wearing a fleece but no gloves, hat or thermal undies! :p The flat was chilly at lunchtime so I did some cleaning, then went to IKEA with my mum, then popped the hot blanket on and have been fine. Just checked now and it is still 14C, must get a lot of benefit from neighbours?

Funny-cute video clip to make you all :D!!

:T I really can't understand people who put the heating on at the1st sign of the temperature dropping below 19C & then sit around in a tshirt or even worse a sleeveless top instead of putting a fleece or jumper on.

The only room I've got a heater on right now is the bathroom & that's just because there's a mildew problem if I don't.

Sorry - I am wearing a sleeveless top with the heating on :o
Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

  • And I am wearing a long sleeve top and fleece but still sitting right in front of the fire... my flatmate is convinced I'm a salamander...

However not putting the heating on is a very good excuse to curl up with a furry throw instead.

I'm a wee bit chilly in a t-shirt but have lots of hot tea and smokey sticks :D

Yep, that's the same scenario here too ... have substituted smoky sticks for large gin & tonic though :D

Have done more spending today  £27 in Waitrose & got a fab new gadget n there called a jugit. You buy the jug with all its attachments & instead of buyingmilk in planet-costly placcy bottles you buy it in bags. Seriously wierd, cant wait to try it out, & the bags of milk are cheaper than bottles too.

I love trying out new gadgets :o

Did anyone else watch Michael Macintyre - live at the Appollo earlier ? He really makes me laugh; the sketch about the spice jars could have come straight out of my kitchen :rotfl:
  • Hi all, not been on here for ages (I think i was in SAID 1!). Anyhow, it's that time of year that has reminded me it's a bit rotten being single, and although I'm not really in any debt anymore (mortgage and small credit card balance), I"m still very definitely single...............not even so much as a sniff since I was last on here!!!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

hello BGB, good to hear from you! First sounds like you need some of these :grouphug: (dodgy as ever!). And well done on the debtbusting. Just think, it'll free up your energies for sorting out the single bit next year!

I am never quite sure whether it's worse or better being single at this time of year. OK so I will have to do Christmas Day with the parents, but at least they are my parents and I'm used to their foibles, I'm not having to cope with someone else's! And I am really looking forward to New Year's Eve as some friends who moved abroad recently are coming over. Because of their travel arrangements we decided to just stay in, along with another good friend and any waifs n' strays who decide to join us. Movies, dinner, chocs, ice cream, drinks, and we can spend the entire day in our pj's if we like. :j See, there's always a bright side :D

Well everyone, rather merry sat up in bed with the heated blanket on, having been abducted to the pub after late shift! Today was my first day back at work after three months off sick, and apparently I will no longer be employed at the end of January. Now I know why I have been squirreling all this year andso tight with the heating!! :rotfl:

:hello: Hi BGB. We picked up/dropped off a Sunderland fan at Bathgate when Sunderland played Celtic in the summer & I thought of you. Glad to see you're doing ok on the money front.

Personally, I've been dumped a couple of times in the lead up to Christmas & it always seems to be after I've bought the presents so at least you know that's not going to happen.
