Earwig - Great post! - we have all been telling sc the same thing, and although she has taken the advice from us, she has decided that she can't/won't pull out.
We have had to back down, and we have promised to help her all we can with other areas od money saving, to make sure that when she goes ahead, every single penny is acounted for, i think she has realised what overspending in the past as done.
And seems very, very determined that once in this new house she will do everything possible to pay debt/mortgage off.
Just hope she can nail it, as would hate to see her back in a couple of years with thousands on cc's again!
I really understand where you are coming from, i personally would pull out now, but we can only offer own opinions, it's up to the poster to decided when to action the responses or not.
I too, like you, really hope that all works out too.

please dont miss understand me i would love the op to come back and prove us all wrong but it only takes one of them to lose their job cant find another one what will pay the same money and then they are in trouble and sadly in the world we live in this is more than possable
mybe if the op feels so conferdent that she can live on that tight a buget mybe she can start living on the buget now so she can see if it really is do able or not before its to late that way if it is to much as we supect she can pull out and if the op can do it she can move with confidence instead of worryi cant slow down i wont be waiting for you i cant stop now because im dancing0 -

Think sc was working nights fri and sat, perhaps that why she wasn't around much..
Sure she will be back on today.
SC - Where are you?0 -
I can't help thinking that this glitch with signing up is serendipity - fate intervening if you like. I'm not superstitious but sometimes things aren't meant to be.
serendipity - noun - the faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident.

I've just read all the way through this thread and your problems are very similar to mine. I know exactly how you feel; its really difficult to know the right thing to do and there is no easy answer. We too have decided to move and put ourselves in more debt but we are not going to be as badly off as you. The thing to remember though, is that 25 years is a long time. If you can imagine someone buying a house 25 years ago and their problems then, they would seem insignificant today and would probably have sorted themselves out. So all I can say is hopefully things will sort themselves out eventually. Good luck. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I would add that becauses our house move is taking a long time, i am breaking my neck to reduce the debt beforehand. However, i would say that it is no way to live. I can understand your need to move but do you have to do such an enormous jump? Could you not climb the housing ladder a bit more slowly? The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

morning all have been working nights this weekend hence no posts but thankyou for you replies:D i am now leaving the move to fate if it doesnt work out i am going to manically start reducing my debts and mortgage so i can move in a couple of years and if it does go ahead i will work my butt off (and its a very large butt!!) to afford my new house!!!!!!
sent dh to do the shopping (with a list) he came back and had spent £75 instead of the budgeted £40-just befor i went a bit  i realised he had done 2 weeks shopping and had brought enough meat for a month so actually am quite chuffed as we would have spent £100-£150 usuallyin a week :T good boy!
also someone gave me £20 that they owed me and i had forgotten about so ihave put that on my avon account, we had started to do well with the living on whats in the house thing so am going to continue this week- no wine and no takeaways either. the items i had put on ebay didnt sell so i have put them in the local paper.
hope you have all had a good weekend xStepchange dmp £6350
