Morning sc, and all!
I apologise if you think we have all been harsh about your new house. But if one good thing has come out of all this, it's the fact that yes you have had your lightbulb moment, and with us all moaning, it has made you MORE detemined that you will get there.:T
Hats off too you, we all really do wish you the best, even though sometimes it probably hasn't felt that way too you.;)
Yes, like you said you could have pretended that you had pulled out, we would have never have known, as we don't know you personally (although feel as though i do, as your sums have been going round my head in bed too!!)
So, well done for keep coming back, and being open and honest with us all!
I feel mse and this site is gonna be a way of life for you, and we are happy to have you aboard!
We will make sure that you can afford to live AND enjoy your new house!
Lots of hugs
Thinking of you at 4pm.

Morning SC,
Woke up, and jsut had to find out how you are going. If you are committed to signing and moving to the house, well done you both have made the decision, while looking at all the facts of how the next few year are going to look. You are in a fortunate position, at least you ave found us here and set up a budget to live off, instead of blindly thinking "I can afford it".
The other thing Ive just twigged on to, is you car loan finishing in 2009 or is that when the 0% deal runs out? If its when the loan expires then you will have an extra 230 a month to snowball towards your mortgage. Is the mortgage you have got a flexi mortgage or an offset? Im not an expert in offsets, but could you have your savings account linked ( i know its only a small amount, but might make a difference to the mortgage over time) Ask on the mortgage board about this?
INcindentally, and rather off topic, if any other readers are worried about replacing their central heathing, in my flat I have storage heaters & the new style boiler for water, and my winter fuel cost was 124 and thats with no gas ( and its crazy price rises). So if anyones considering needing a new Gas central heating system my advice would be check out if storage heaters are cheaper to install as Im fairly sure thats pretty competitive.
Anyways, all the best of luck for today, well done for all the things that you have done so far, and its great to have you here!
Lots of love
lynz x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

As I said before I do understand why you are doing it. I admire you that you are prepared to take the risk. But still think you are bit mad as well

If you can you need to factor one extra in thing to your SOA. And that is car replacement fund. I agree with Lynzpower you will have extra money to throw at the mortgage once the loan finishes. But you also need to think about replacing the car as well.
Even if we have been what seems a bit mean we have at least got you to go in to all of this with your eyes a lot wider open then they where before. And have your lightbulb moment.
I do wish you all the best. And do please keep coming back at let us know how you are doing.
You may even find that saving money is a lot more fun than spending. And budgets can always be revised as time goes on. You can always tweak them until you get them right.
Again I wish you all the best and I am sure that you will get then in the end.
Take care.
Yours

hehe!!! my car was brand new when brought it is a big people carrier so we are hoping not to have to replace once paid although i know it will be prone to breaking down etc once i know the move is a def i will start a new thread called -help what have i done!!! and prob have a nervous break down but am going to enjoy the fact that i have no credit cards to worry about and just one huge bill (mortgage)to concentrate on (i know how daft tha sounds!!)i snowballed the mortgage and it seems if i paid only £10 extra a month it would knock 5 years off that cant be right can it#?????Stepchange dmp £6350
