Not sure if this is any use, spotted this one at currys

    SONY KDL40S550 40" 1080p LCD TV

was 750, now 599, but trade in an old Tv and get 100 off, plus 3 year guarantee
    FF

This also sounds quite good, but would they really need me to trade in an old TV to get the 100 pound off??? i mean they would then have to dispose of it and the hassle that comes with it.

My uncle is a TV repair man, so i can easily get a broken one to give them, but was wondering if it will be necessary, i do need to buy a TV within the next 2 weeks.

Well the offer suggests you need to give them an old TV, but you could always ask.

wow - great deal and well done op. if you get this, it's a fabulous bargain. i got the 40 inch for 650 from richer sounds recently (with 100 trade in) and i thought that was a steal. great tv. so, for anyone who sees the churlish bickering going on, on hotukdeals, well, that's just sour grapes. the w series get great reviews as well.

It's stupid, but the better KDL40W5500 is £899 on Currys and £734 on Dixons (free delivery). Now, if it was £734 with £100 trade-in then that would be a good deal!
