A question to anyone that managed to get the DISPLAY MODEL .....

(it's a long story which I won't go into right at this second - I'll fill you in later :) )

... but I'm down to get a display model but I'm almost being warned off from taking it - tales of "woe" - it's been on 24 hours a day 7 days a week for who knows how many months - there could be SCREEN BURN !!! and I'm going to have to sign a waiver of sorts knowing that this might be an issue etc. etc......

SO, all you display model owners ....

... can you see anything at all wrong with the screen ?

Or anything else for that matter ?

    Cheers Q

Regardless of that you should still be covered by the 3 year warranty by Sony. If you have any issues then just report them to Sony.

I'm sure that screen burn only occurs on plasma TV's and not LCD TV's

Hi, no sign of screen burn here, just perfect picture! :j I think Northerngeezer may be right, I thought it was just plasma's that suffered with this but then i'm no expert. Hope this helps!

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the panel wearing over time rather than actual "screen burn"? The lightsource on a LCD panel is expected to last around 60,000 hours, so a TV that is switched on for 24 hours, 7 days of the week, should last around 7 years.
  • Saw this in Tesco York this week.
    £895 !!
    Sweet.

The Asda store in Aberdeen Garthdee has the same TV on offer for £500 now, down from £600.

Not as good as the previous offer but still much cheaper than anywhere else. I'm not sure if this is nationwide or not.
