Managed to nab one on Friday from Lakeside ASDA Living. A quick phone call secured one. When i got to the store they weren't even on display anywhere. Bloke i spoke to on the phone got one from the stockroom. All very stange...

Still, what a TV for the price, kids are overjoyed.

Only one problem with this TV. There's too many toys and features. I'll never make full use of everything on it.

Compared to my 32" 720p Samsung the picture quality doesn't seem any better with Sky HD. But with a Bluray playing through the PS3, WOW!!!

The price of TV's is always coming down. Remember when 50" was only available to footballers??? Bide your time and bargains will come your way. :0)

Very disappointed all round, and a bit suspicious that Asda staff were not exactly honest with me.
We then popped round to an independent retailer who often have great deals, but the same TV there was £899!!!

I'm glad others have struck lucky, though!

Sorry to hear your story, i must admit certain members of the staff didnt seem too pleased that the manager had offered me this deal but I dont think they wanted to argue with me after giving me false information over the phone and making drive all the way there!! :mad:
Its frustrating for you though as your suspicions are probably not too far wrong!

That's not the 40", that's an "S" range 40". Not the same as the "W" range, which the 37W5500 is.
