the board is for helping and assisting people who are experiencing or considering the bankruptcy process. Critising people on here who are 'opening their heart' to complete strangers about what is troubling them is not all helpfull.

To quote ' a friend in need, lets say' is rather un nervey at the very least.

I will help anyone with an issue over weather to go along the bankruptcy route, but what i cant comprehend is people who feel its there right to critises someone who for whatever reason feels that loosing there car is a major issue. To me it would be like loosing a limb, its 4 miles to town, and to be honest i love my little car. So im glad they have still got there car, they know its ok, not damaged and it is good condition and well cared for.

I appologise Angie for the the comments made on here, im so glad youve been able to keep your car. I was lucky as mine was, well not even considered to be honest, as its just a very basic and 12 years old car!!!

It will get better over time, and hopefully you'll look back and think it was worth all the heartache going along the bankruptcy route.

    Good luck for the future.

Angie - very pleased you managed to keep your car & all the best with the house. I know it's easy to say try not too worry (I'm the world's worst) but sure things will work themselves out. BR is never easy, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Started to read the other posts and as the OH of a BR feel pretty miffed at the daft comments by that numpty, but hopefully that's all gone away now. This forum is about postive, supportive & helpful comments, if you want to feel like a pile of brown stuff presumably you only have to speak to one of your creditors !!

i think you've misconstrued my comments.i think you have misconstrued my posts, im not after 'pity' just sharing my experience of the BR process re my car and my hopes to buy it back. I get great advice and info on here from people who have experienced what I am going thru and it helps me deal with the emotional and practical hurdles to get over. i'm a fairly positive person i guess and one of the things that stops me getting down when i have problems is looking at those who are less fortunate.feel sad for you here as if you need to look at less fortunate people's problems to stop yourself 'getting down' that must be quite horrible for you. i do think that being able to write of debts is a comparitively lucky position to being thrown in prison! i wasn't suggesting we adopt the system here or saying OH's country is better than here its a small world, I actually lived in Iran for 10 years as a child as my Dads work took us over there !! - quite the opposite in fact.

however, i do think it's a little out of perspective to consider having to get an older secondhand car again if you had understood me properly, I have no problem with getting a cheaper second hand car, all my previous cars have been old bangers. The car I was pretty desperate to not lose is our first reliable one that hasnt been a money pit on repairs. The only reason we got a more decent car in the first place is cos an uninsured !!!!!! drove into my last car and after a lengthy legal battle my insurance paid out meaning I could afford a more decent car than I would normally buy, so I probably was a bit more attached to the car a genuine cause for pity when there are people in the world who can't put food on their plates!

i drive a cheap secondhand car and i'm on quite a decent salary. i don't consider it shameful.nor do I !! in fact, i feel lucky to be able to run and keep a car.

i consider my input supportive. just feeling sorry for people and encouraging self-pity is not supportive well not once did I interpret the replies to my posts as people 'feeling sorry' for me. Im actually grateful to them for the support and advice they gave..

Thanks, thanks thanks again to the people on here who don't 'judge' but time and time again help me with advice, support and practical info. I will continue to share my experiences as it helps me enormously, I will not get upset by negative comments or narrow minded people.
