i've already stated that no i wouldn't.
my personal preference would be for a massive clampdown on lending - i'd like to see very little lending or debt allowed. then people wouldn't need to go down the bankruptcy route at all. it's still far too easy to get credit cards and loans.
Sorry I didn't read the entire thread and missed your comment0 -

where did i say bankrupts should be hung drawn and quartered? or that it was always easy? i know the stress debt can cause and have experience of it. i find the need to drag out my previous posts and constantly harp on about my OH's immigrant background a little bit dubious. the judgement you claim i've made about bankrupts (i'd like to see the evidence) could equally be levelled at those who judge immigrants.
no bankruptcy itself is not life threatening. bankruptcy is a remedy for debt (which may have some unpleasant side effects but i would question that any of them are life threatening).
is this forum only for bankrupts then? Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
Well.....its "bankruptcy and living with it" you tell me?
and as far as harping on about it not being life threat...again thats total and complete !!!!!!!!..We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
it was you tht mentionded about being in some countrys it was a prison offence to be in debt.
Being in debt and being bankrupt are 2 completely different things. Oweing a bit and managing to tread water robbing peter to pay paul is one thing. To be in a state where your unable to make minimum payment or the interst is more than your paying is another, bankruptcy is a last and final option and one that is not done lightly. The final answer in many peoples cases.BSC member 137
