Well, UK, 16 C will be great, rain - no problem, its not like we don't get enough practice at running in the rain is it? but windy, no. Lets hope it calms down a bit before race day..

whats feeling fresh feel like?? :rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It's a strange and alien feeling Uk. So is getting your Sundays back
I'd had my run, showered and eaten breakfast yesterday and then realised it was only 09.30!!!!! It's usually early afternoon by the time I've done all that. I had time to go to the supermarket for supplies before meeting up with friends and hitting the carvery for Sunday lunch.
So ..... how long to go now????2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Sadly, three things conspired against me - 1) My legs hadn't quite recovered from the half...and didn't feel what you'd call "fresh". 2) The course was much hillier than anticipated (I'll post some elevation stats at some points) - don't think there was a single 100m you'd call "flat". 3) There was a proper wind in your face for half of it.
Those three things combined to push my time up to 45:07....but *given* those three things, I was actually quite pleased - the winner of the race only managed 35:37, so I think it's fair to say the hills are worth a couple of minutes on a "normal" course - and I finished 75/457, so in the scheme of things it was a decent result - I'm inching toward the "pointy end" with each race
Another positive is that my calves and quads have been giving me right grief after the last couple of races - which has to be a sign of them rebuilding themselves, right? They're making me better, faster, stronger, longer, right?
Also did 4 hours' climbing on Saturday, which some might argue isn't the ideal pre-race activity...oops
Still, feeling strong in myself after this series of races - the last couple, particularly, have been tough, but feel like I've got a good foundation for a bunch of speedwork now ahead of eynsham next month....0 -
There's a little technical glitch when you try saving a post which has inadvertently gone over the 2500 character limit as I found out last night when trying to update the race list/results post.
Unfortunately quite a lot of the more recent details were lost. After about 2 hours of pulling the information together again I think most of it is correct but let me know if you spot any obvious errors/ommissions...Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Hello all :hello: Did a slow but comfortable 4.5 miles at the weekend, feel like I'm getting there slowly with building up the distance again.
Was waiting to hear about a charity place in VLM but not felt entirely comfortable with the whole system or confident in my ability to raise £2000, so have emailed them this morning to withdraw my application. Doing the Kilomathon for the same charity and going to enter the Sheffield Half as well and do those two as my fundraising thing for next year with considerably less stress than aiming for that amount!
Still would like to aim for a marathon eventually, maybe later next year.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Well done Idio on your run, hope your legs are better - I've got tight calves today.
Good running red, good luck for the kilomathon x0 -
