Mo Farah just won the men's race!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Hello I'm back
Well mixed feelings about my run, I wanted to see if I could just nudge sub 60mins or better but the weather decided it was going to not help out. It was sunny but severe winds which made it lovely going out but very hard work for the final 5km and as it was along the prom the sand was in our faces too. So not the best conditions and subsequently not a great time although much to improve on.
10km 1:05:12 (10:29/mile):mad::D.

Congrats evab - it's a benchmark and one that you should be nicely placed to beat soon, especially if the weather plays much nicer for you.
Hope IdiophreakandMrsplinter got/get on OK.
I've been out and done a steady 6.4 miles today in 1:03:04 (9:51/mile). Could feel the increased mileage in my legs so didn't push on either miles (by carrying on) or pace. Nice and sunny, with odd bursts of quite strong wind here and there.
Final total for the week = 21.3 miles.
Some good running from the regulars as usual too0 -
1 week 6 days Uk???? Just goes to show that I've been a bit distracted recently - I didn't realise that we are so near to the end of October :rotfl: What distance are you running next Sunday?
Well done evab - it sounds as though the conditions were not ideal today. Sand stinging your face is not nice and you did a good time under the circumstances.
Looks like you had another good run too krider
I forgot to say earlier - could you please add me to the Silverstone Half on 14 March 2010 Rich? Becky has kindly scheduled in a half for me on that date so I'll be joining Uk and tq. :j2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Thanks simply, silverstone sounds good I used to live near there!
My next run will be Helena Tipping 10km in Wrexham on 6th December with my dh, I need to do a training plan which is going to be interrupted by dh going away for 2 weeks this Friday so a pain in the bum! I really need to find a baby sitter round here so I don't rely on my parents too much.0 -
That looks a nice race evab - a small event and nice and flat
Silverstone is the first 'big' race I have entered (Chippenham is the biggest to date with about 2000 runners) so it should be an interesting experience.
Good luck with finding a baby sitter - you have my admiration for juggling work, running and raising a young family. :T2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Who, Me? Never.....;);)
Well done, evab...battling against the winds is never easy (probably the most annoying weather condition:rolleyes:) but, as already said, at least its a marker that you know you can beat with more favourable conditions.:D
UK - Congrats on getting all the hard work over and done with......now just a case of getting yourself to the starting line feeling nice and refreshed and you'll be fine.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
