Set off to do a 12 miler tonight but after about 4 miles I seemed to acquire a mini treacle factory inside each leg (:p) so 12 miles quickly became 10K.

Its all a good sign though so no complaints from me!:D

Glad you're enjoying the running club, Linda - Eccleshill are usually out in force at all the local road races and seem to have a whole range of abilities so it should be a good move on your part!

Good running, Krider - you cant always be bouncing but tired legs usually mean that you have some improvement on the way!

Hannah - As a general rule you dont try catching up on any 'lost' sessions. As Simply and Chickadee say the whole idea of fartlek is to be flexible according to how you feel on the day - you werent feeling up to it today, so be it!:D

Simply - For what its worth, I always thought you were a woman!:p

UK - Go for it, inaugural Finsbury Park parkrun winner there for the taking!:D

Chickadee - You've done it before so you know you can do it again.;)

And, although she cant post, Becky has managed 4 miles tonight so the foot is coming back to life!

Thanks Rich, they're a nice bunch too, I looked at joining Idle AC (I know, the irony) but I've heard they're very competitive and not as friendly.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Are you listening to biased gossip from the Eccleshill mob by any chance?:p

  • So Becky's not about?? Good, I'll carry on then .........

Right fellow runners a word of warning for you - when Becky sends you a training plan and the email to which it is attached reads '
Do not be afraid - I have made it tough' you know you're in trouble  At this point I think it is probably best to flee the country so I'm off to stow away in Uk's bag, she'll never find me in Athens. ;):rotfl:

Seriously, thanks Becky - it is one scary looking schedule but I thought that about the last one and that wasn't too bad in the end. :p

    Rich
    - I hope your treacle disperses quickly.[FONT=&quot]

Linda - I'm glad your 'bug' is back.

krider - I can't wait to see you bouncing around on your tigger legs with your head torch on. :rotfl:

She's a hard taskmaster - its your fault though for performing so well last time.;)

And I wonder if treacle dissolves in alcohol? Might be worth a try......;)

  • Hi All, Been away for a few days in Amsterdam whilst OH was doing the marathon and had a fab time!

Went out with the running club on Tuesday and found it very hard, although they were all telling me it was a hard training session (they weren't kidding - I was knackered after the warm up run!)

So been out again with them tonight and we did lamppost training along Whitley Bay sea front - in groups, running hard for 4 lampposts and then 2 easy for 13 minutes, then 4 easy and 2 hard. It was hard but enjoyable. And I've joined up tonight too so thats every Tuesday and Thursday night for me from now on! :rotfl:
