Oooo exciting - just got new trainers, new winter running jacket and new insoles for £70 - last one in stocks of the jacket and insoles (that never ever happens in my size!)...

But on bad news I will soon be running in the same shoes as Rich (why dont they make many womens shoes in my size ;)), can see some issues cropping up here with putting on the right shoes on a sleepy Saturday morning!!!

Just looking at recent parkrun results. These are my last 5:

    29th Aug 18:42
    19th Sept 18:52
    26th Sept 19:01

    Can anybody spot the trend?

This aging process thing really gets going once it gets a hold, doesnt it?:rotfl::rotfl:

You lazy thing Alias, I have a week off too and today I have cleaned every room in the house, done the laundry, changed all the bedding, and planted some herbs. Will be off for a run soon too!

Get out there now and either paint the fence or go for a run :D - we'd better see you taking the opportunity whilst in Cyprus to get fit again! Where will you be stationed, my dh was at Dhekelia barracks and my brother in Nicosia and my s-i-l near Limossol.

    Akrotiri,

Dont worry, ive been in the garden painting the fence with a brush. Im about 7mtrs done so far at a guess. Another 1/2 day and it will be finished. Have to empty & move the shed to get to that section.

Im from Chester, will be there on wednesday visiting. Plan to head to blackpool tomorrow to spend 1/2 day there and take the children through the lights, head down to parents house to save some cash. Wednesday & Thursday stay, home in the evening.

Chester is a funny place for shoe shopping, probably best to find a trainer that style fits your feet and order online. Chester sports near tesco is pretty expensive, soccer sport, JJB, JD sports all dont really stock running trainers that much.

& dont worry, i wasnt scared off. I could go out for a run tonight and knock out 8miles, though would prob be closer to 1hr 25mins than the 1hr 8mins i use to put in for it.

Lancaster half did you say Rich ;) I may or may not have a entry in for that. Fairly sure its my only half this year so i will have to PB to keep my record of PBing at all proper race distances this year.

5k, 10k, 10 mile and marathon all done so far.

Well that was better running! Start of a new training programme for me so some hard work to come, today was intervals and felt really good. 600m run 400m recovery x 6.

    Mon 26/10 3.2km warm up, intervals(3:56,3:46,3:47,3:41,3:52,3:44 - runs), 2.8km cool down. :D

Well done on the fence painting alias ;)

    Quite happy with tonight's run.

It followed a period of seven days which included 17 miles of speedwork at an average of 6:11/mile, the most intense seven day period so far and the reason why a slower parkrun on Saturday was no surprise.

But back to feeling pretty strong again so felt pretty comfortable.

KMS - I may well be seeing you at both Brampton and Lancaster then!:D

Evab - Well done on the intervals, be careful not to push too hard though...

Well done rich, that's great effort with all the speed work last week.

I didn't push too hard I remembered that it shouldn't be 100% so it was hard but comfortable and the 400m were a lot slower. I'm suprised at how well I feel now, let's hope it continues until 6th Dec!
