Thanks Mascott - hoping to run 3 times inthe week and once on the weekend. Main aim at this point is to get back to the stage where going out for an hour was fun and not scary then start to formalise training a bit more. Kind of hoping to be fit to do a 10k in London on 11th July and Glasgow half in September. Am a bit concerned about how I will manage to train on the dark nights in the winter but will give that more thought when I ge there. Am also starting resistance training again (love the buzz of a good lifting session).

I'm not serious runner either, and would never contemplate a marathon...just doing bits and pieces and trying to keep fit. :)

That's what I said just over 2 years ago....

Well, now that you've said that, I'd quite like doing a mountainmarathon or similar, but not a road one. ;)

    Hi all

back over the 25min mark on Saturday :( - I put this down to the 3 'H's.... heat, hangover and hydration (lack of)..... still, ever onwards.

Another 5 miles tomorrow, I think. Might even go for the 6 (ish) ;) we'll see how I feel when I get to the Tower, its either turn back, or cross the Bridge and go back on the other side.....

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D

I had my slowest ever 6 miles yesterday and it was supposed to be seven but the heat got me. Didn't manage to get out early enought and it was already too hot for me at 9. Doing now gentle 2 milers this week before BUPA 10k next Monday.

Well Done Marru and Lurkio on getting out there.
I have been ill since Saturday, so now no run for over a week:eek:, but I couldnt even get out of bed on Monday.
Feeling a bit better today, so a touch of gardening is on the cards.

Its good for me to rest up a bit at the moment, and as I cant taste anything, I am not eating much....which is good!.....dont want to chub up!

Hi All! I'm still alive! It's been ages since I been on here!
Managed to do the Edinburgh Half Marathon in my target time (just!!). Resting up now till Thursday as I have a blister on my left foot, a sore right ankle and sore hips!
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.

Am back......and hi to all the newbies, its a lovely place on here and not everyone is a serious runner ( me included, i run for the fun/mud).

Been traing with a pack for a while nice gentle 5 milers and one 10 miler, very very strange running style now:rotfl:though when I tried without the pack yesterday I was managing a 7.30 mile pace:eek: which for me is a silly time waaaaaay too fast.

Anyone out racing this weekend? Was thinking of doing The Final Sortie
Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D

    |Hi Bagpuss,

Well done on your fantastic time. Sounds like ypou are suffering a bit , but it just goes to show it was worth it!....looking forward to the next one?:T:T:T

Well done Lurkio, I prefer an evening run generally, I find it relaxing after a day at work. And cooler, if you usually run at lunch time. I do like a nice hot lunchtime run sometimes, but ~i do not like the early morning ones, dont know how you early risers do it! (Simply Cynical!)..how was your Park Run?

    Cats...7.30......:T
