Mrs Consistency strikes again!:p
It sounds like your tapering is doing the trick nicely. As you say, its just a matter of keeping it all in check during the early stages so you've got fuel for the business end of the race!:D
Wow, you got through some travelling miles yesterday - are you a long distance coach driver?:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Ha, ha didn't you know Rich I've had cruise control fitted!!
Coach driver?? Now that's a thought. No, my OH is in sales and had meetings scheduled - I took the day off as we thought that we'd fit in a quick family visit after the Leeds appointment. It was the ideal chance for me just to sit around resting all day while he chauffeured me around
So, are you ready to take that young whippersnapper Uk on tomorrow??2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

I can believe that!:p
We were kind of in the same places, well Leeds and London anyway, just at different times!:D Not the ideal prep for a marathon but it sounds like you've come out of it unscathed!

Hi :hello:
I've survived a week of fell walking (48 mile week across the fells), and just about survived the week after at work. Pleased to report a couple of speedy (for me) 5K runs this week. And after doing lots of walking which previously meant the first week back running was not great. I don't thing jogging to the bakery on a morning counts as going for a run inbetween the walks!
Wednesday - 5K in 28:44 (9:13/mile) - felt comfortable, done after approx. 2 miles easy paced walk
Friday - 5K in 27:42 (8:54/mile) - was pushing, no walking beforehand
I've got my race number/pack for the Halloween 5K already - and it came with pins. I was most shocked. Looking forward to it - and for those concerned they have employed a safety boat in case people fall in the Thames :rotfl:
Hope things are going well for people here - I've not read back through lots of pages due to time which has been horribly scarce this week(end) since being back. Some races tomorrow though I seem to remember - good luck to those running - some good running weather at the moment.0 -
Wow so many runs, good luck all xx

Thanks evab - saved me some searching and copying - good luck all of you from me as well with these races.
Sorry to hear you are not 100% but taking care of yourself is more important than a race, and save the thumpings up for those who deserve them. They won't expect them when they next see you :rotfl:0 -
Psssst tq .... over here ..... :hello: How are you feeling?? Are you getting excited?
I think you've done brilliantly to get your training done when you've had to fit it around the demands of a young family. I just want to wish you the best luck and I hope that you have a fantastic race.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
