A nice warm up 10K to get primed for tomorrow's race - felt okay but I did notice the breathing being a bit laboured from a slight hint of sniffles. Not surprising really considering the drop from last week's 30c+ temps to this week's 10c.
Anyway, should be fine by the morning.:D

I've found lots of races btw, some 5 & 10 km, 5 miles and 1/2's - enough to keep me busy for a few months. Not sure what I'm starting with but looking forward to nipping to Chester running shop in half-term to get my new trainers!0

Have a great run today everyone xxxFollowing :money: to keep us debt free :j0

Good Luck Simply, I know you have put in a tremendous amount of consistant training so I hope you get to enjoy it and are rewarded with a good timeI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
Finally Debt Free...0 -
Well I did the Bradford City run today, there was a choice of 5 miles or 10 miles.
I registered for the 10 mile race even before I did the GNR but after the GNR I had some kind of flu which wiped me out for a week and sapped any energy I had so I haven't run a single step since the GNR
Anyway I just ran the 5 mile distance this morning in 58 minutes, I don't know if my time will even register seeing as I signed up for the 10 miles.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
At least you went Linda, well done for getting out there and getting your running kick started. I haven't been out for 3 weeks now but have been swimming this morning with the family, took ds for the first time and he loved it!0

Got to be pretty pleased with this morning's race - a new fastest 10 miler, a new fastest 10k and a new best WAVA......not too shabby!:D
The first 5 miles was 31:12, with the second half taking 31:49...I think the difference was accounted for by the slightly less favourable underfoot conditions on the paths in the second half, it will be interesting to see if UK's splits show the same pattern.
The first 10K took 38:48 which beats the Sheffield time of 38:53 so another positive from this morning.:D
So the 10 mile races this year so far:
St Albans 1:10:00
Eccup 1:06:00
Sale 1:04:39
Cabbage Patch 1:03:01
Now looking forward to the next 2 x 10 milers at Brampton and Thirsk at the end of next month to see what sort of times those very favourable courses can deliver.
A little incident at the start of the race (a man had a heart attack right on the start line after coming out of Starbucks) caused a delay of 10 minutes or so and jumbled the field up so that there was a lot of out of position slower runners up the front end. That probably cost 15-20 secs to sort out some sort of order.
Now looking forward to a whole series of race reports for the rest of the day.
Well done, Linda....that is a pacey effort which shows you've retained plenty of your GNR training fitness.:D
Now going to hospital to hopefully sort out Becky's ankle which has swollen up to resemble a tree trunk....
