So are you all going to abandon this thread??? I hope not...
I did go and look at the other site, looks very professional, but didn't have time to play around there. Do you have to be a member to access the forum?
Anyway. After the bad run, I went out on Tuesday, but realised that I didn't have enough time and did a really short 16min run, hardly worth bothering, but I was going to go, so I went.
Yesterday did my proper run. I went the pace I felt right and it felt good. Time was bit disappointing at 39:40 but I know it doesn't really matter, I was back, I felt good and I'm going out again tomorrow.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
tirlittan, the new site was set up because - there seemed to be a feeling from some - this thread was too elitist and dominated by the more serious runners. For that reason, most of the in depth running talk has moved to the new site.
I don't plan to abandon this thread and I expect most (if not all) of us will still pop in here to chat and to offer advice to newbies that want it.
It will mean that there are less posts here, especially the training diaries and talk of records/targets etc. that some users seemed to find quite threatening to newbies.
I feel like I'm explaining why mummy and daddy won't be living together anymore, but it's not like that at all!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Glad to see you're getting out there and feeling good. Times really don't matter for the vast majority of running you'll do. It sounds like it was a good session.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Hahahaha BT thats funny
Another point was that there's TONS of great information in the thread and its tres difficult to be looking for it all the time so we're slowly but surely moving stuff onto a more orgniased system. Now we cant expect MSE to allow us the space to do that so we've gone elsewhere to find it
Of course we're still around though0 -
Hi there,
Just wanted to say I did my first ever half marathon last Sunday, brought on by the fact this time last year I was having keyhole surgery on my knee for cartilage problems (brought on by stupid student things!). Felt like I should celebrate the fact it wasn't a worse problem by actually doing something for once!
It took me a while, but stuff I've read here was useful, and I knew I wasn't going to be quick (2hrs32mins). But I did it, and thats what matters!
So thanks for chatting amoungst yourselves while I watch... creepy ^_^Saving for a trip around the world!Currently £5,000/£25,000Onwards and Upwards!0 -
