Hope everyone is well. I have been so ill this week with a cold I have not managed out running at all.
On a positive note, it looks like the parkrun group have had luck with organising a run closer to where I live0 -
Hi All,
Don't know if I said before, but the Saab Salomon Turbo X I was sposed to be doing this weekend has been postponed til the 15th of May.
Just been naughty and entered the Reading half next weekend. Stupidly expensive, but running's better than not running0 -

Well - 'cos my husband joined my gym, I get 6 free personal training sessions, (for recommending him!). First session last night, told him I wanted to up a gear, and run faster - OMG, he made me do spurts faster than I thought my legs could move, up a steep hill - that no one should have to run up, fast slow up down - OMG - what happened to me! And I wasn't allowed to wear my Garmin - apparently it's a limiter!
I'm going off this personal trainer - he's a bully!
i'll either improve, or die.0 -
Thanks Beer Tins that was very helpful.
I was out today and did practically the same run as on Tuesday. I was a bit surprised that I didn't go further in 25 minutes this time as I was feeling better and lighter. I will go out again on Saturday morning and will do a longer run then. 2 miles feels really good and I feel that I could go further easily.
No problem. If you're finding it easy, you should be fine going up by 0.5 miles. Then you can increase it even more, depending on how you feel, as per becky's post. But do reduce it on some weeks to give the improvements time to bed in. And if you do feel very sore towards the end of the runs, be prepared to stop and walk the rest if you have to. Walking briskly at the end will still benefit you.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Good, don't make me set becky on you as well!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

Hey Idio,
I was told Reading was closed.....I really wanted to do it as I havea couple of mates running. are you buying a Charity place or something??
Update....all ok so far this week....9 and 19 to go...! Thinking I might as well kick on to the full 20 miles...that will give me 4 goes at my longest distance....but who knows. I am looking forward to my long run this week as I plan to do my usual (now boring) route and then head off on the Tunbridge wells Half Marathon route.....having done it before I can tell you its tough but I am looking forward to all those lovely views and hills!
Good luck to all on your runs.....some good runs planned....off to google the reading half....that would suprise my mates.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898
