    Hey rich hows your wound?

Nothing really, just a tiny bit of skin rubbed off.

Not too surprising in hindsight as I must have been half asleep yesterday morning before setting off. In the process of putting the Sorbothanes into the racing shoes I neatly inserted the left one......and then forgot all about the right one.

Hence the race was run with no insole at all in the right shoe, and I didnt even notice! :p

So it was probably something quite hard under where the insole normally is that did the rubbing. Its the first time that I've done that.....

Btw I saw the whining about the 7 min/mile RW pacer. Why would anyone bother about them though? Do they not know how to use a watch. And the pacers are only there to act as mobile advertising boards for RW, nothing else!

So how do I get a new target time for freckleton any ideas?

Still cant believe i've gone from 10:30/11:00mm to 8:50/9:15 in less than 3 months and one off those was low mileage due to the snow

You didnt notice blimey you must have been sleepy!

I would have thought that sub 9:00mins/mile would be a reasonable target (1:57:54) but of course it all depends on what you feel you can do!

  • Well apart from my injuries I feel perfectly good today so I reckon if I lost a bit more wieght, work on my core and do some better training I could go a lot faster ( and feel better!). I guess until were closer to freck date I cant pick a target especially as I will be training with the marathoners at running club on thursdays so I'll have lots of fast runs at over distance plus my LSR as well.

I hope post 3863 gives some inspiration to the newbies in the thread, I Never thought I would be running this fast (btw to those that dont know me im a lot closer to 40 than 30 so im not a youngster)

    Indeed I am, Ev!:D:D

The main aim for this year is to prevent my long standing marathon PB from becoming a fully fledged adult. It is due to reach the ripe old age of 18 years in June 2011!:p

So, 2:48:57 in Abingdon would set the clock back to zero, and after yesterday that is feeling a lot more plausible........ Tough, but plausible!:D

I think that with your consistent training, excellent race results and your obvious drive that will be achieveable, no pressure!

God you lot get up early!

Sorry I didnt say well done to everyone yesterday - my brain was elsewhere taking a mini vacation ;)

So well done everyone! Some great running from all ends of the spectrum!

Am not as stiff or sore as I expected to be today - had a nightmare train journey back (I knew I was doing some odd route due to works but then got rerouted again and the train was packed! Got into London at midnight having left Leeds at 7pm ) Anyway so I can climbs stairs no problem - have a few odd sore patches but I suspect that was from slipping around rather than the running itself.

Got a lovely rest day today - Simply I hope you are taking one too :)
  • It looks like racing conditions were pretty good everywhere yesterday despite several events being called off (probably prematurely) up and down the country.

Looking at the winning times of :

Wokingham Half 1:04:48 (Ben Moreau did 1:05:07 and didnt even get the win!)

    Brighton Half 1:06:59

    Blackpool Half 1:09:36

So, quite clearly, without any shadow of doubt, through extensive statistical analysis of the above,.....we had the toughest conditions by far in Blackpool!;)

No? Ah well, it was worth a try...:D
